The app we booked through had mostly 10/10 reviews so seeing how many bad experiences people had posted about on here, made me question my choice in accommodation. As we had used £100 of Tesco vouchers, we’d have lost these if we cancelled the booking.
I was pleasantly surprised on arrival; The apartment was clean, bed was very comfortable, location was easily accessible and reception were friendly. However, reception staff go home before the evening, leaving security on site. On night two my opinion changed entirely
At 10pm I was running the shower, when there was very loud banging on our door. It wasn’t a knock; but a continuous and aggressive banging, intimidating enough that I told my partner not to answer. I had no clothes on as I was just about to shower and felt extremely vulnerable.
The person banged again, harder and repeatedly shouted for us to open the door My partner asked who it was as they hadn’t declared themselves, the person only banged and shouted again and again to open the door.
My partner said he’s not opening the door as the person was immediately aggressive and didn’t say who they were or what they wanted. I even got the number up for police because I thought this person was going to enter.
After my partner repeatedly asked what they wanted , they finally said it was hotel security. My partner asked again what they wanted, as there is no key hole to check who it was, it was very scary. If there was a peephole I’d have asked for ID. They kept s
