Pros: the hotel is conveniently located and walkable to most areas in Morro Bay. There are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. The hotel staff was also really friendly and accommodating. The price of stay is also economical. Cons: The hotel is dated. The gentleman at the check in desk told us the property had recently been acquired so some of the rooms have not been renovated. Our first room was upstairs and immediately upon entry the room smelled bad. It smelled like a convalescent home. We asked for a room without carpet and were given one. It still had a similar smell, but tolerable. You can hear everything going on in the rooms next and above you, including outside.

Great location
Good location. Right next to downtown Morro Bay and 5 minutes to the beach. It is a little rough around the edges but clean and the staff were very nice. Walls thin so bring a fan or earplugs. Great restaurant right across the street.

Clean. Comfortable
Clean, furniture nice. Good a/c unit. Super close to beach, easy acces to highway yet not close enough to attract questionable people. Bathroom was small, only shower, needed updating, water temperature good. Sink water tasted well. (Made cofffee) Great for a one to 2 night stay.

I stayed at this property over the weekend because my in laws were also staying here. When I entered my room it smelled horrible of cigarettes. I opened the door and windows but after about 10 minutes I started getting a headache so I asked my sister in law to come see if something smelt weird or if it was just me. She said she could definitely smell it so I went to the front desk(mind you it had only been 10 minutes since receiving my key to the room) and the woman at the front seemed very annoyed after I explained the situation and said she was going to go smell it. She came back and said she didn’t smell anything and didn’t know why I wanted another room. I told her again it was a very strong scent. She started huffing and puffing while she checked the computer. She ended up giving me a different room but I don’t think the doubting me, being annoyed and huffing and puffing was necessary. I will not be back here next time I stay at morro.

I would definitely stay here again.The Hungry Fisherman Restaurant is across the street. Convenient to stores if you need anything. It's a short drive to Embarcadero or short walk to other shops and restaurants.
