First I would say I will stay here again however for such an expensive new place there were a few own goals which are inexcusable because they would be so easy to fix. Saint Augustine Beach has in general lousy hotels and always has had overpriced terrible hotels. This a newly renovated hotel which is nice. The parking was easy to do and there was plenty of it. The pool area was small but OK and the hotel is not on the ocean but I assume you would know that from looking on a map. The good bits were the lobby and the general public areas of the hotel were all new and shiny. The room was very big and felt clean which is very important. Nothing much to complain about there. However, there were some silly own goals and as I’ve said I would stay here again but I have no idea why these things happen and an expensive hotel.
1. My room was not available at 4 pm for check-in because of a staff shortage. I finally got in at 4:30 but at least they took off the $20 parking fee.
2. I reserved a king with a partial view and instead got two Queens with a partial view.
3. Coming back to the room at midnight there was a distinct smell of sewage in the bathroom but I was too tired to report it and went to bed instead.
4. At 9 am on Sunday morning you could easily hear loud music in my room on the third floor coming from the restaurant and hotel lobby. Why? How is loud music more important than rest?
5. The shower leaked water all over the floor due to the screen being fitted poorly.
