My fiancé and I booked my birthday trip to the Excellence Resort and it was a 100/10 experience for the both of us. We were experienced the best service and vacation in the 8 years we’ve traveled. All the staff were so friendly and treated us like family. I would recommend anyone and everyone to visit whenever they have the opportunity to go.

Rating: 6/10. The Excellence Punta Cana was a beautiful property with well kept grounds. Greeted you with champagne and a nice room. Most the staff was friendly with a few exception. The beach and pools were very nice. Drinks aren’t made strong but they will accommodate if you ask. The food was average. Nothing to rave about. Breakfast was always cold whether at buffet or restaurant unless you got a made to order omelet which is the only thing they made fresh on the spot. There is no poolside food ordering service and no place to order food to bring to the pool. They occasionally walked around with pizza and hamburgers but only for a short time period in the afternoon. Dinner spots were average. Agave(Mexican food) and the grill (steakhouse) were the best we ate. Most the food was bland. I don’t think I would come here again, mainly cause food is such an important part of my vacation time and I wasn’t impressed. Everything else was nice though.

This resort was absolutely incredible! My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights on vacation and it was extremely clean. There are people cleaning every area of this hotel and beach constantly. The staff is SO friendly and happy to help and just be there. Plenty to do and activities to enjoy. We will definitely be back!!

Wonderful stay. However the food wasn’t all that great. House keeping wakes you up at 8am everyday. Also Make sure you have a proper cab to the airport because the ones the hotel call for you turned out to be so disrespectful and tasteless. Overall wonderful stay. I was very unhappy with the construction around the resort. If I had been made aware from the resort, I would have booked another resort. I had heard about the possibility of construction, but when I contacted the resort they told us there was no construction that would effect our stay. That was completely incorrect. I understand the need for maintenance, but it should have been disclosed. We meet other there that had been going for 10 years and they said they would never return. They said the service, the facility and the food was the worst they had every experienced. There was also a shortage of different food. This was most likely a one and done for us. We've stayed at 4 other resorts in Punta Cana and this is bottom of the list. Will be going back soon, but will be staying at Hideaway at Royalton or Breathless.

This was our second trip to the excellence Punta Cana. The first time was 15 years ago when we literally have compared every vacation we've gone on since to the excellence. We returned back for our 10-year wedding anniversary and the Excellence did not disappoint. Seriously the best hospitality of any resort we've ever been to. The staff is so nice and amenable. It was just a relaxing great vacation. We will definitely be back.

Everything was excellent!! Did ask house keeping to put drinks back in our refrigerator but that didn’t happen! That’s the ONLY thing that was not PERFECT!!

Beautiful resort. Easy to switch up your day from the pool to the beach. The property felt cozy despite being decent-sized. During our stay the last week of September the resort wasn't busy. There was a steady breeze so the ocean waves were rough, however the ocean views were stunning. It's worth paying extra for an ocean view room. Be careful when ordering excursions from the guys walking around the resort, they are all about booking trips but make cancellation very difficult - you've been warned! I've stayed at a number of resorts around the Caribbean/Mexico and this hotel experience is near the top. Get a legit hotel transfer company to/from the airport - don't just book based on the lowest price. Call the Excellence resort and ask them for a recommendation if you don't want to book it thru the resort - they know which companies are reliable and safe.

It was a great place to stay! The most friendly and accommodating staff. We had some minor issues and the staff worked super fast to fix and support us. They always made us feel like we VIP guests.
