Where to start. Our first room was atrocious.
We checked in late and went straight for dinner. When we arrived back to our room, I noticed a smell, after 30min my breathing was restricted and I had a headache. I turned the lights on and noticed black mold around the air-conditioning vents and on the ceilings, the floor was also damp in area's.
It was 10pm. I went to the reception area, no one there. I called the after hours number, spoke to a lady who advised there was nothing they could do until 8am the next day, when reception opened. Obviously I advised that this was not good enough, the room was affecting my health and I couldn't stay in it. She was not empathetic at all, and could not help until 8am. I asked if they would reimburse me for the cost if anither room, at a different hotel, the answer was no.
I went back to my room, and told my wife and two children that they were not going to help until 8am. There was one bedroom without air-conditioning, and little mold. My wife and kids slept in there. I couldn't, i stayed on the balcony for the entire night, getting no sleep.
I called WOTIF, initially you guy's were helpful and empathetic. Offered to give me vouchers as compensation. Then I was transferred to a very unhelpful, inconsiderate person who did not want to help..
The following day, at 8am, I politely advised of my dissatisfaction with regards to the service and respect i was afforded as their customer. Still no vouchers from WOTIF..
