Pros: The room itself was clean and was as expected, which is the most important thing for me when I book. No smells, no noise, easy parking, safe area, comfortable beds, affordable price point. I would recommend for short stays.
Cons: The hotel staff was not very welcoming because she was busy on her phone. I don't particularly care about a warm welcome, but it can be off putting as it's your first impression of the hotel. One of the elevators did not work. In fact, it was making alarming creaking noises and the door was malfunctioning and not closing properly. After alerting the front desk, she was not very apologetic or reassuring. Honestly she barely spoke to us during the whole time which is odd behavior for hospitality staff member. The other elevator worked, but produced the same scary sounds which was not encouraging. We debated carrying our overseas luggage up the flights of stairs because we didn't feel very safe. We had to request for extra blankets for the pull out couch bed; we had to go down in the scary elevator again to pick them up ourselves, as she was the only employee at the time. We picked up the blankets, and again, it just seemed like we were an inconvenience or bother to her.
I normally love Hampton Inn and Suites and choose them frequently. This was an abnormal experience in regard to rude staff.
