Comfortable hotel directly across from Wengen train station. Breakfast and restaurants were also quite good. Be sure to book a balcony room with a valley view instead of a “village view”.

Wengen is an amazing place that I have visited probably fifty times over the years. I have stayed at the Silberhorn half a dozen times over the years, and it is fine, although it really is in need of an update. it is certainly clean, and, like everything in Switzerland, it just works, but it is in dire need of an update.

Excellent location especially if you are travelling with kids and would want to explore Jungfrau area. Just 1 minute walk to Wengen train station. 1 minute walk to Mannlichen cable car. convenient to visit below places most within 45 minute reach: Männlichen Grindelwald Grindelwald First Lauterbrunnen Jungfraujoch Murren Harder Klum Interlaken Next to Co-op grocery shop. I booked a double bedroom suite with 3 twin beds and one double bed and was charged that rate. Prior to arrival the room was paid in full through Expedia. When I arrived with my husband and two children there were only two twin beds in the room. I spent over an hour at the front desk arguing with the rude staff dressed in a T-shirt that was stained that the room I was given is not what I paid for. Long story short they charged me an extra $120 to bring the beds I had already paid for to the room. Under no circumstances do I recommend this hotel. It was awful. No coffee left by housekeeping the second night and we had to leave very early for a flight. There are other lovely hotels in Wengen. Stay far far away from this one.

I stayed eight nights at this hotel in a classic Jungfrau view room. The hotel is a few minute flat walk from the train station which is perfect. The room also had an amazing view and nice balcony with a view which I ate several picnic dinners. Wengen was a really nice place to stay. The hotel staff was nice, the breakfast was great (especially the omelets) ,and it was fantastic to have a laundromat on site. A wash and dry was 10 CHF. The juzzucies and spa sun room was amazing after a day hiking. This is an old hotel, built in 1893. My bathroom was not renovated in grey as the pictures show. They also don’t offer massage services in the summer. My room was clean and nice sized, but there were some quirks. For example, the fridge door didn’t shut properly. I asked for it to be looked at and the maintenance person showed me how to jiggle it closed. Also my sink did not drain properly and the toilet had to be pumped to work. My shower worked great and it was nice to have a tub, robe, and slippers. I wouldn’t say my room was a 4 star room (due to the maintenance issues) but I would stay here again for the price I paid $200-250/night because of the fantastic location and view, and nice staff.

3回目の宿泊ですが、キッキン付きアパートメントは初めて利用しました。部屋は広く、お風呂も使いやすくとても快適でした。価格は高めですが、立地、部屋の広さとキッチンが使えることを考慮すれば妥当だと思います。またスパはいつも空いてて、リラックスできました。

First of all, the property is in Wengen and not in Lauterbrunnen as listed on Expedia. It takes a 25 mins cable car ride to reach Wengen from Lauterbrunnen. Starting with positives. Exceptional location. Its right across the Wengen train station and mins away from the Mannlichen cable car. The staff is amazing - polite and welcoming and responsive to all requests. Good breakfast & they have washer & dryer on site. So thats a plus. Now the cons. Its is supposedly a 4-star property but it is more like a cheap US motel. Very dated. Small rooms but that is expected in Europe. Uncomfortable mattress, flat pillows (we had to use two), and no extra blankets. There were very few plug points and were located in inconvenient places. No coffee machine but instant coffee with powdered milk was available. Cherry on the top was cable of the kettle. It was 6-inch long with no plug point near it!!! We had to bend over and reach under the table to plug in the kettle to heat the water!! Smallest bathrooms, no conditioner and shampoo + body wash that converted hair into hay. So it really depends on your expectations. We paid for a 4 star property and expected one. If we had known the condition of the place, we would have chosen another place.
