Overall, the fairmont is a fine hotel. Everything is acceptable: the rooms are comfortable, the service is fine, things are clean. That said, I expected a bit more than fine for the price and many details seemed to be lacking. The pool was great but always packed with people and no one helps you find free seating. There was often a 10-20 minute wait for elevators (and one was out of service). And you often had to ask for service (which was always friendly when asked for) but no one approached you to check on your needs. I also wasn’t aware that this is essentially a cruise hotel that changes over daily for the cruise ships.
If you are looking for something convenient to the cruise terminal and don’t mind crowds, then this place will suit your needs. If you’re looking for a romantic, quiet getaway, I’d suggest possibly looking elsewhere.
