hotel room a bit dated but clean. could use some TLC as the condition of the room overall is subpar. the room itself was very spacious and comfortable. the in-room hot tub bath was a nice touch. one major flaw is their elevators. they have a bank of 4-5 elevators, however only one was in working order. for such a large, busy downtown location it was surprising. Upon checkout, it took us nearly 15 minutes just to finally get down to the lobby with our bags as the one elevator was constantly full each time.
as far as staff goes, the valet staff was very friendly and accommodating. had no issues checking in as well at the front desk, very easy. However, upon checking out the front desk employee was honestly pretty rude. I asked for a final receipt as I do checking out at any property with all the charges on it and she advised me this was not possible because I "purchased through hotels . com". I explained that other properties have had no issues printing out a final receipt despite booking through hotels but she insisted she could not print out a receipt with all the charges on it. This must be a Holiday Inn Express or specific location issue as I've been able to get printed receipts at time of checkout for hotels. com reservations. If that's the case, that's fine but I was confused by the employees rude reaction to my request.
