Stayed here for our honeymoon, was quite skeptical after seeing some bad reviews kn the lead up but our stay was comfortable and our room was spacious and clean. My husband tried the English breakfast which he said was okay (smaller than expected). The staff were welcoming. The only downside we found was it was noisy where we were staying on the bottom floor as we were close to the restaurant and you could constantly hear other guests.

Outdated but totally saved by location.
This is not a 4-star property.
Should be awarded 3-stars on the location alone.

Truth is, this hotel probably deserves most of the hilariously bad reviews. The rooms all seems to be in various stages of collapse - some have only hot water, others have only cold. Some have broken or barely functioning air conditioning. Half the power sockets are broken/ a death risk.
The place was renovated very shoddily about 25 years ago and it’s clear the owner can’t or won’t pay to get it fixed.
However, I got a very good deal on one of the premium rooms, the bed was great, the location perfect for my visit and as a result would be very happy to stay again for that sort of price..

Catfished
I, along with many others was catfished by the images, description and pricing of the hotel. Only stayed for half an hour and checked out.
I would suggest that this site and other booking engines actually visit this hotel.

The shower was too short with awful water pressure. The breakfast was stale/underwhelming with a lack of cups for drinks and very little food options. The mattress was made purely of springs. The windows didn’t open properly and the lift was broken.

This property has had a bunch of negative reviews so I thought it would be worth adding my experience.
Overall it is good. Our room was the "garden suite". It was a large room with a comfortable enough bed, some old and battered armchairs (think shabby chic). The bathroom was large. Checkin was delayed because the maintenance person hadn't fixed the shower that the previous guests had reported as being faulty. Despite this he still didn't fix it properly as it was either dangerously hot or cool. Reported to management who promised to get the mixer replaced but they didn't do it in the week i was staying there. So to sum up. It is a quaint building, well located and in a safe area. Staff really don't care about the guests and service is poor so if something goes wrong it is unlikely they will deal with it.

The Hotel is in an excellent location close to the tube station in a quiet neighbourhood with clean large well furnished rooms. On the downside the décor was a bit old fashioned & breakfast was continental only. The staff were pleasant & polite. We would certainly stay there again.

This hotel is very close to Sheridan Square and Little Venice. It's a short and beautiful walk from a lot of restaurants and parks. It's also very close to an Underground station, making it very convenient for travel to central London attractions.

Great locstion
The hotel is in a great location, ideal for travrlling into central London. It was comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed for our short stay. We got upgraded to a bigger room as there was no single beds available on our arrival, which was nice and spacious. There are some elements of the hotel that are in need of modernising or replacing but was pleasantly surprised after reading the poor reviews. Dont be put off by others who moan about the small details. This is a nice, freindly, comfortable hotel.

The hotel was very dated. The lamp and walls were damaged, the wood of the step leading to the balcony was very old and decaying, there was no bar to hang the toilet paper on. The sink was corroding, so I had to buy bottled water elsewhere.
But overall I had a good experience. It was very quiet, in a nice part of town, and the service was good. The bedding felt very clean and the room had everything I needed.

More like a 2 star hotel and not 4.
Definitely not a 4 star hotel, more like a 2 star - don't get fooled.
Only positive are the nice and friendly staff when they're actually interacting with you and the location - nice near a tube.

In need of TLC.
The hotel clearly had character, right now, its in desperate need of TLC. Its a marvellous building, with a presence and historical depth. Unfortunately it is weathered and worn. Carpets are stained, doors didn't shut, tiling had holes, skirting boards are grubby etc.

Location was great in terms of transport links. Staff were very nice and the building looked lovely. Our room needed some attention in terms of updating the bathroom which was very tired looking and not functioning particularly well. But everything was clean and it served its purpose. Would stay there again.
