We couldn't sleep all night long because the alley next to the window was busy all night long. First we heard some unhoused people fighting, not sure if someone was severely injured but sounded pretty brutal. Then we heard a megaphone, maybe the cops were called to break them up. Then there were "ghetto-bird" cop helicopters flying over. Then we heard someone throwing up in the morning, followed by a street sweeper that went by about 4 or 6 times. The room was clean, but small. The air conditioner has one switch, a breaker that goes in the on position or the off position. The bathroom does not have a ventilation system. Gross.
This is the most no-frills experience this close to the beach that shows a cool looking entrance on the web, but they don't show you that they have to splay the doors with some lumber 2 x 4's locked with a chain metal wrap and a bolt lock to keep the rif raff out. We arrived after Harville's closed just after 1 and they had to remove this for us to re-enter the building. They were gracious, but not as gracious as the dude who walked around the corner just before we got there shouting obscenities at everyone in sight.
I guess that's the world we live in and I guess they could not afford double paned windows and I guess they could not afford black-out curtains because the street light entered the room all night long.
