Poo-poo show on steroids

I have traveled the world thanks to the US Air Force and stayed in 5-star hotels to tents in some Godforsaken desert in strange countries. The tents I stayed in had less bugs!! This hotel is pet friendly and it was evident by the fleas in our first room. I asked for another room and the guy just kept asking what knid of bugs and how many. There was enough to make the white blanket look like pepper was spread over it. This was on top of the toilet leaking at the base. Their fix was to put a towel around the bowl. AND I was told to take the wet towel to the front desk each day for a dry one. Let's not forget the wall light that arced and sparked when I tried to turn it on. I would by-pass this flea hotel and pitch a tent on the beach.

Not bad, not great. Good for the price.

This La Quinta is a short drive to downtown Charleston and a lot cheaper than any place in the city. While I thought it was fine, you get what you pay for. My room didn't have a trash can and when I asked for one, there were none available (I was given trash bags instead). My room was clean enough, but the bathroom had some stray grime and hairs here and there. The tv remote didn't work well and I couldn't adjust the volume. The floor of the room, bathroom and the furniture had bits of paint from a bad paint job at some point. The air conditioner works but is loud. Ultimately I'd stay here again because of the price, so it's 3 stars out of 5 for me. Parking is easy and costs $10 per day.

We were charged our deposit even though there were no damages. We called and they said they would credit us $55 and the ended up charging us an additional $55.

Great Location

Very convenient location ! Room was clean, water is VERY hot, breakfast was average. The hot water was great, but may be an issue with small kids. Breakfast ends at 9am , a little early for a vacation. Saw families with small children in their PJ's rushing to make it. in time. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Would have liked cleaning at some point in our 4 days stay, not necessarily laundry but trash and towels would have been nice.

Amazing stay but missing a few things.

The bed was comfortable. We were disappointed there wasn’t a small refrigerator in the room. We had some items in a cooler that needed to be kept cool. I also had to ask for a hair dryer, which is typically in the room. Overall the room was nicely done.

VERY POSITIVE EXPERIENCE

Location was beautiful in the middle of a Marina and conveniently close to MUSC where we had an appointment. It was clean, quiet and comfortable and the staff very friendly and accommodating.

Steer clear

Room in exterior corridor area was disgusting. Mold and mildew stains on mattress. Bathroom was dirty and not repaired well from previous issues. When asked to switch rooms, hotel charged extra for a "deluxe room" which condition wasn't much better. Received bill at the end and added charges for parking

Not sure how it could be worse but possible.

Strange smells. Wet spots on the floor. Is half a motel. Booked room for 5, there were one sleeping spaces for 4 and not enough space in the room for a cot/roll-away. Wet floor and smells precluded someone sleeping on the floor, so crammed a 3rd person ine one bed...

Older hotel but very reasonably priced, breakfast included and was actually very good- close to historic area although not walking distance, but by the river and nice view of the boats, didn’t have time to check out the pool
