Overnight for a concert

The room was comfy and more spacious than most hotels for an overnight stay. The bed was the most comfortable I’ve slept in during a hotel stay. Fairfield downtown Birmingham is so convenient to many downtown venues. If we should visit again, we will definitely stay here!

Went to Birmingham, AL for the Sidewalk Film Festival, as an aside, Film Festival was excellent. Fitness Center and Breakfast were excellent. Room was quite comfortable. All in All a very delightful satay!

Eagles concert trip

We had a good experience at the Fairfield Inn in downtown Birmingham. The check-in process was smooth and valet parking was easy. We were able to walk to and fro from the hotel to the Legacy Arena where we saw the Eagles in concert. We ate supper at SOCU Southern Kitchen and Oyster Bar. It was a very good meal and within walking distance from the hotel. We would definitely stay here again.

Cleaning lady wanted us out in the morning

Everything was great, room very clean and had all amenities for our stay. Our only issue was the cleaning lady started knocking on our door at 9 am. We could hear her going down the hall knocking on all the rooms. She knocked two different times and then as we were getting dressed and packing our bags she opened our door and walked in the room at 10am. Our check out time was 11am, I even double checked with the concierge on that.

My itinerary stated 2 queen beds and 1 sofa suite and when I got there the hotel stated that they received the request for 2 queen beds ONLY.. very disappointed! And upset!.. when I got to the room it was for handicap and I’m not handicap nor did I request it….All of the plugs for electronics was on the other side of the room etc .. Horrible Stay! Which was not what I reserved or deserved

I booked 2 rooms for my son and his friends through Expedia. The information about parking was incorrect & they were charged $120 tax for 2 cars for 2 days (valet), instead of the $15 per day covered self-parking as stated in Expedia. My original reservation was for 3 people in one room, and 2 in the other. Two weeks prior I called Fairmont to add one more person to the 2nd room and also re-confirmed that there is a sofa bed with the king bed in both. The lady confirmed that (1) she had changed the # of people in the 2nd room, and (2) that there is a sofa bed in each room. That did not happen. I found out that someone had to sleep on the floor in both rooms, both nights. I called Fairfield and spoke to the manager, Cory. He tried to deflect by telling me it was my fault for not calling the hotel to verify that the parking information is indeed correct (really?) and also since I don't have the name of the person I spoke to when I called the hotel -- I could be lying. But the original reservation was for 3 people in one of the rooms, so there definitely is supposed to be a sofa bed in at least one room! He originally offered credit for half the parking charge. But I insisted that he should give me some credit for the people that had to sleep on the floor. He refused, & I got mad & threatened to write a bad review (I did pay a lot for my son & his friend to have to sleep on the floor). He rescinded his offer to give me some credit for parking and hung up on me. STAY AWAY!

The room and hotel were nice and clean. Unfortunately something happened to my keychain while the valet had my keys. My keychain bear’s limbs are missing and my heart charm is broken. We didn’t realize this until after we left.

The suites are very large and roomy! Beds were comfy and room was very clean. Front desk associates were always very friendly. Parking can be an issue. Street parking (if you're lucky), parking garage (across the street $20 per day) or valet ($36.00 per night + tips). We chose the valet option. Seemed the most convenient. Valets were always very friendly as always gave personal suggestions on restaurants and directions. If you choose valet, plan to pay your tips by cash and do not choose to pay them on the app. The valets said they do not get the money. Overall, I would recommend this Hotel.
