5 Best Places to Go Shopping in Da Lat

Da Lat Market is an interesting place to spend a few hours and get a feel for the vibe of 'real' Vietnam. Known to locals as Cho Da Lat, it is similar to many of Vietnam’s city markets. It is made up of more than 1,000 shops in a few multi-storey buildings.

The busy market offers interesting goods, especially local produce. The variety ranges from wine to flowers, cosmetics to strawberry sweets, meat to handicrafts and even household appliances. You can find almost everything here, including cheap winter clothes (in case you're not prepared for Da Lat’s cool weather). Da Lat Night Market offers a diverse shopping experience for visitors hunting for great bargains. Open daily from 5 pm through dawn, the streets in this part of Da Lat City Centre are lined with colourful stalls selling local snacks, second-hand clothing, and souvenirs. 

If you’re visiting during festivities such as Da Lat Flower Festival, Tet, and Christmas, there are numerous exhibitions, street parades, and performances by Vietnamese celebrities. You can also see local youths showcasing modern more modern art forms, such as busking, hip-hop dances, and skateboarding. Weekends are the best time to explore Da Lat Night Market on foot as all roads in the city centre are closed off to motorcycles, taxis and buses.

L’angfarm is a modern retail outlet in Da Lat City Centre where you can find high-quality food items in beautiful packaging. Open daily, some of its most popular products include artichoke tea, dried persimmons, fermented rice wine, and sugar-coated mulberry candy. 

The store also has a rustic-themed cafe that serves an extensive buffet of Da Lat specialities. Diners can enjoy over 50 kinds of food and drinks here, including gelato, sweet potatoes, cakes, dried fruit, herbal tea, and pizza.

XQ Historical Village is a massive gallery dedicated to Vietnamese paintings, abstract photography, and hand embroidery. Located near the Valley of Love, an entry fee applies and there's an additional fee for guided tours of the picturesque village.

The village is also a popular spot for photography as there are plenty of flower gardens and ponds and the local artisans are often dressed in traditional costumes. After a few hours of sightseeing, enjoy authentic Vietnamese dishes and teas at onsite cafes, or purchase embroidered silk, clothes, and accessories at the gift shop.

Da Lat Flower Gardens can be found on the northern side of Xuan Huong Lake, covering an area of 7,000 square metres. As Da Lat is well known for its variety of colourful flowers and plant species, the park is one of the town’s most popular attractions. 

Da Lat Flower Gardens was established in 1966 with orchids, hydrangeas, roses, pansies, mimosas, and peach blossoms among the 300 types of flowers grown there. With such a wide variety of species, no matter what time of year you visit, there will always be a dazzling display of flower blossoms to enjoy. You can also buy beautifully arranged bouquets at the gardens.
