Poor environment and security
The reception area and the rooms are strangely separated and located in different buildings (or at least from different entrances if in the same building) and there is no segregation/security measure at the main entrance to the rooms which are are on the 1st and 4th floors as there maybe other occupants on the other floors (although there is a segregated door on the room floor with room key to get through). The shower area is stuck and the water wouldn’t go away and almost flood. And after the filter was taken away, the bad smell emerged from the pipes. In gist, this hotel is not worth the price.

Wonderful stays in Firenze
We chose this hotel for the great river view and it is exactly, and we enjoyed beautiful sunset of Firenze. But windows can not be opened, I guess it's for security reason. Room is wide and well decorated, especially the tall ceiling. And remarkable privacy of main gate of each floors which made us feel safe and peaceful. Hotel staff provided helpful information about travel in Firenze, and also assisted us to contact car rental company for reservation. We had pleasure 2 stays and will definitely choose this hotel again.

One of the most beautiful places I have stayed, and a great location for going shopping and exploring the city. Right on the canal, it’s pretty tough to beat. My friend and I got a suite and it was plenty of space and amenities.

We have stayed at this hotel before and chose to book again. We enjoyed our stay and the second room we were given was nice. However a main complaint would be the food at breakfast. The food served as consistently cold, we the eggs very cold every day and the beans. Apart from this is was an enjoyable stay.

Great location, very close to a lot of places to visit, a great view. The elevator was a bit uncomfortable and the hair dryer wasn’t good, compared to other hotels I stayed at in Italy (I couldn’t find a voltage converter for the one I bought from home). But overall was a really good place to stay.

Hotel is in a high tourist area, but it’s not bad. Still pretty quiet and comfortable. The air conditioning went out at the hotel one of the days I was there so it was very hot and uncomfortable, especially since it was very hot outside. I would not suggest using the parking that they try to push on you because they do not communicate everything and did not tell me that the parking garage they are contracted with closes from midnight to 7:00am and my rental was stuck in the garage until the car rental company picked it up because they would not open it or let me get the car for my early morning flight. They will tell you that in case of emergency, there isn’t anything they can do and no solution. Use at your own risk.

The stay at Palazzo Alfieri was excellent. The only thing that has stopped me from giving it 5 stars is the fact that the bathrooms seemed to have been designed by tall men for even taller people only. The towel hooks were almost unreachable and the fixing for the shower head was probably above two metres so no chance of being able to shower without holding the shower head. Which in a hotel of this level and price range is somewhat disappointing. Equally the step into the bathtub/shower was so deep to make it almost unsafe when coming out of the shower. Besides that the room Was very very comfortable and the view on the river absolutely unforgettable.
