On the first evening (19th April 2019), my boyfriend and I went up to the roof bar called Sky27 and ordered two drinks.
We chose to sit outside as we would like to enjoy the night view of Changsha and the outer area happened to be quite dark. As our drinks arrived, I spotted a black dot in my drink. Therefore, I turned on the torch of my phone and discovered that an insect was in my drink!!!
I called for the waiter for assistance. Two waiter arrived and I explained and showed my situation to them. One of the waiter said he could not help me to exchange for the drinks while the other said "It's fine, we will get you a new drink".
I waited for 10 minutes for my new drink and received reply from the first waited saying "sorry we cannot swap a new drink for you because the insect flew in from outside".
I WAS ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIED by the out-coming reply from a Five Star and award winning world class luxury hotel of IHG Brand. How can you expect me to continue to drink it?This is definitely what I expect from a luxury hotel! If there are so many flies in the roof area, it is the hotel's duty to eliminate any insect breeding. I DID NOT drink my drink in the end, neither did I called a refund because of the turn down by your staff earlier.
To be frank, I did enjoy the room facilities a lot and the staff were nice and helpful at the reception area. The reason I chose to stay at Intercontinental Changsha is the well established reputation of the IHG brand.
