Shady Practice by La Quinta College Station
The host cancelled my reservation at 8pm on the day of my check in and said they are sold out as we were driving to the property. I called twice and asked for manager and she hung up on me and refuse to honor the booking. She gave up my room to higher bid. Terrible practice and should be investigated

Should be your last option
Very run down and dated. Granted we stayed there because it was a game weekend and it was the only thing vailable. Now i know why it was available. If you can live with staying in a VERY run down hotel, this is your place. Bath towels were the size of hand towels, no light bulbs in the lamps, bedding like sandpaper and pillows like styrofoam. Stay away unless you cant find anywhere else.

In need of repairs/maintenance/cleaning…..
The hotel is old and in need of repairs/maintenance/cleaning. The closet had dead crickets and a gecko. There was not a coffee maker in the room (although the receptionist said there should have been). The swimming pool was dark green.

Not as advertised.
This was a horrible stay and the room in real life did not reflect what was on-line. It should have slept 5 and it specified a couch. This was not the case the room was on another property and the front door was unsealed; light came thru around the edges. Room was very small. To be fair Hotels.com made it right and issued a 50% discount on the room. That was greatly appreciated.

Out of date and needs total renovation. The room smelled musky and the pool was green. Not worth the $350 a night.

Old in bad repair
The door on the room stuck and required heavy force to open. Shower dripped, toilet and hair dryer needed repair and the overall feel was old, dirty and in need of repair.

Valerie at the front desk was extremely helpful, patient and kind. There was an issue with my booking through hotels.com. I had a receipt for my payment but the hotel had not received payment. There was way too much back and forth between hotels.com, La Quinta and Expedia (3rd party involved if you do anything through hotels.com apparently). Valerie was on the phone with both parties several times (for over an hour!) and stayed extremely calm and polite to both. The payment finally came through but it was an issue on Expedia's end, not Valerie’s. I will not use hotels.com in the future. Valerie’s customer service was impeccable and I’m grateful for her help. Our room, however, smelled like mildew and the bedding did too. The shower was very hard to turn on.
