We had a nice stay at the Hilton. The location was perfect for our little family weekend getaway. The staff was exceptionally nice. The lobby was clean and inviting. Our kids loved the lobby games and the pool.
A few takeaways that didn’t necessarily ruin the trip but did cause our overall review to dip a bit.
1. We had a reservation for 2 Queen beds. There was no way the beds were Queen sized. Double, maybe. My husband and I were very cramped and we are not large people.
2. The pillows were absolutely terrible. They were about the size of a placemat and thin as a cracker.
3. We were told we would receive daily room service and that never happened.
4. The $25 “daily destination” fee felt a little bait and switchy. I get this is apparently standard for all Chicago hotels, but I don’t recall reading about it beforehand, so just keep that in mind.
5. The temp in our room was very hot, despite having the air consistently running. We asked the staff to come take a look, and they merely opened our windows as a solution.
Overall, we would consider staying here again but would definitely reserve King sized beds.
