Pros: The bed and pillows were comfortable. Overall, the property was quiet and peaceful. Breakfast items were fine, although it would have been nice to see some fruit.
Cons: The hotel is in need of a makeover, badly. 1) The room was dirty in several spots: the wall near the waste basket, the baseboards, and corners. It seems like these items get overlooked. 2) The paint job in the room is poorly done; it is unprofessional and sloppy. 3) The carpet looks old and unclean; it needs to be replaced. 4) The furniture, specifically the bed frame and the framed picture , is a bit outdated. The picture is placed oddly on the wall. I wouldn’t mind the antique furniture if the rest of the room was clean and spotless, but this wasn’t the case. (The dresser is a bit worn, although it was nice). 5) The bathroom needs to be properly painted and updated. There is no vent. 6) The continental breakfast area, specifically the sun room, needs to be cleaned more. The windows were worn; (one could barely see through it); and the paint job looks bad. Again, it’s unprofessional. Other common areas, such as the staircase and the hotel exterior need to be cleaned and washed.
I have been to motels that have looked better and were priced much lower. Having spent $170 plus tax ($188 total) on a one night stay on Saturday, we expected much more.
