Historic Inn is sure to Delight!
Wonderful slice of history in San Anselmo that also pays homage to Star Wars’ creator George Lucas who is a resident in this community. Very peaceful setting and walkable to a variety of nice restaurants and shops. Breakfast was delightful.

Nice, charming historic inn in the heart of downtown San Anselmo. Clean with all necessary amenities. Short walk to several nice restaurants, library and park. Convenient parking nearby.

Massive Disappointment
Extremely disappointed! Thought I had booked a cute, well-maintained, converted historical building. Instead, I walked into what can be best described as a nice hostel. The patio and restaurant were closed. There was no reception - our room key was on a table in an envelope with my name on it. The building had an old, musty odor. Our room faced the alley so we were woken up by trash trucks emptying dumpsters. It was smaller than our son’s room. The bathroom was atrocious. Overall, the advertised pictures were seriously deceptive.
Less than 3ft on either side of the bed. Just enough room to open the door.
Sink behind the room door and next to the tv was 4ft from the bed.
Building location is great but San Anselmo is a sleepy DT that doesn’t open until 11am and with a tiny, uncomfortable room that makes for a disappointing experience.

Super convenient location? Lots of dining and shopping options within walking distance. Places to hike nearby. San Anselmo is a tight knit friendly community, with a small town atmosphere. No elevator to second floor, so be ready to carry your bag. And hot water never reached the sink, although there was plenty for the shower. Staff there warm and accommodating.

What a lovely, quaint and comfortable hotel. It has a sweet, European feel. This is NOT an ultra modern luxury property but a perfect local spot to experience the quiet authentic town of San Anselmo and its surroundings. The owners were super accommodating and the rooms clean with excellent beds and a breakfast spread in the dining room every morning. We were very pleased and will return for sure.

Clean and comfortable room, quite small but good for a night or two. Can't rate the staff as didn't see anyone when we checked in and out! Only thing we weren't keen on is that washbasin is in the bedroom, with toilet and shower in the en-suite.

What a cute find! Would definitely stay again. Old Building but clean. They are currently remodeling. It was a bit difficult to find and where to park is not obvious. There also was no staff so a few more instructions on how to get there and where to get keys etc would have been appreciated.
