Was a little hard communicating with the property ahead of the trip. We needed to check in after the very limited check in time, which they allow, but we're only given a South African phone number. They don't respond to email or by text message. We had friends in a town nearby who helped us, but if you don't it could be a problem. On the day of check in, they did give us a phone number to use with the app WhatsApp, but we don't use that or have it on our phones. It worked out, but made me nervous coming from so far away(USA) without instructions! Caretaker was very nice, Cottages were a little rustic, but were as pictured and clean. Housekeepers were friendly and did a great job! Internet was mostly not available, but it is out in the country so kind of expected! We lost power one night completely(we bring flashlights and the room had a candle) and felt it was too late to call the caretaker, so we just waited til morning. She came right away to find the problem(a cut power line) and got it fixed in a couple hours. The air conditioner cools the main room well and lowers the temp enough in the bedroom to sleep. Shower had good water pressure. The view in the distance of Table Mountain was lovely(especially sunset!) and the morning parade of the nearby safari reserve animals was wonderful! We saw eland, springbok, wildebeest, zebras and a whole family of giraffes! Bring binoculars! Fridge is small and if power goes out, you'll lose stuff like milk, but it's quiet and relaxing!
