I enjoy this hotel and have stayed 2 previous times without issue. But the stay this time was really frustrating from a service perspective. First, I asked for service to the room for towels and tissues. Ran out of both - no one ever came by over the 2 nights I was there. Second, I think parking - given the crime in the area - should not be $45/night (I hadn't used parking before). It's outrageous. On a $200/night room, it's essentially a 25% up charge. Street parking is open and available, but you risk getting mugged or your car broken into. Of note, I parked on the street this trip for 2 1/2 days and never once paid for parking time via meter or Parking Kity, and I did not receive a ticket. Portland doesn't really have people checking parking anymore, so that also increases crime but essentially makes street parking free. Lastly, someone two doors down the hall had take out food and left the trash in the hallway for 2 days and it was still there when I left. It would be nice if there was real room service again.
