I wish there were more nightly entertainment. There wasnt much to do at night outside resort. Food and drink was great. Lunch menu excellent and food options all day through night! Everyone there was very kind and helpful. Small but very nice and clean resort. For money, it is an excellent value. It clearly states there is no walkable beach, which is no fault of theirs. None of the hotels in this area have that. I would definitely come back.

This place tried to charge me significantly more than I was told I needed to pay upon arrival. And they had a wedding that made extremely loud music until 1 AM. I’m all for weddings, but I’m also all for being able to sleep at a normal hour in a facility that I paid to sleep in. They have a beautiful resort, but they’re trying to take advantage of their customers is gonna cost them in the long run.

Always an amazing stay at the el cid. We’ve been there. 15 or so times and it never ceases to amaze us. Small quiet place with most of the all inclusive off of a menu, which means it’s cooked fresh to order. We love it!!

I had a fantastic stay at El Cid La Ceiba! Everything was spotless, the staff were so friendly, and the food was always fresh. Roger, the activities director, was amazing — I even won pearl earrings at bingo! I treated myself to massages by the beach and loved relaxing in the hammocks by the ocean. I can’t wait to come back!

We've been going to El Cid for 15 years, multiple times per year. They used to offer dinner from the menu, the rooms smelled like bleach after a cleaning, and the staff was friendly. Not this trip. The one night we decided to order room service because the buffets had been mediocre and that's all they offer for dinner now..my husband got food poisoning. He was extremely ill and spent half his time puking or on the toilet, or BOTH. The little manager lady didn't like that we were ordering room service instead of the buffet, that's the only place we ate and he got really sick...so we know it was their food. Secondly- they would tell us "that's not included in YOUR all inclusive...like the wifi codes we originally got that didn't work so they had to print out new ones, or ordering food at dinner from the menu.. Thirdly- the red flags were up unless cruise passengers were there- they we're not willing to lose money on the cruise guys, but didn't want us swimming. So when cruises started coming in,- the flags magically changed to yellow. Finally- they were painting the room next to ours, and the fumes were horrible. We all got migraines but they didn't want to move our rooms. There were also a ton of itty bitty ants climbing all over our stuff. Presumably because they had the patio opened up in the room remodeled. We've turned or taken over 30 people to this place as we thought it was the best. Now we're looking for a new hotel in cozumel. Never again.

Another great trip to El Cid! The staff is what makes this resort exceptional. The chefs at El Cid are phenomenal. I would like to thank Roger, Vicki, Erik our bartender, Juan, Jose Neomie waitstaff. Fernanda during check in. The only complaint I had was with Expedia, which is being addressed at this time. Thank you El Cid for another great vacation. See you in 6 months.
