Great location, steep walking path to beautiful White Bay Beach. At other end are numerous bars including the Soggy Dollar our favorite.
Beautiful high up beach view.Nice size older cottage. Has excellent internet connections and cell phone service on att.Tv is smart TV with Roku. Tv works well.
We rented a car and drove the island . Not too much to see, the cottage is located at the best place on Island. The cottage is about a mile over a steep hill from the ferry dock.
The air condition fast ferry from West End was on time and comfortable,good service.
Foxy’s on Great Harbor was excellent, we had a full blown Thanksgiving dinner that was excellent. The Scuba shop near foxy’s offers one or two tank dives with all equipment for $99/1tank or $150/2 tank.
Snorkeling along White Bay beach just ok.
All in all we had a very relaxing low activity week. If you like walks/runs you can use the roads which have little traffic.
The resort is trying to go green-they encourage recycling, water conservation and little use of a/c. We used the a/c to keep the cottage comfortable day and night.
The maids came by every day or two, we did not need their service. They offered a sheet change mid week.Given ample older worn out towels which were OK.
No laundry in unit. Bring bottled drinking water.Rudy’s store near ferry has a small but adequate selection.Food is very expensive with limited selection. Rudy’s sells liquor , beer , ice mixers and limited groceries.
