Perfect location for the Grand Canyon

Thunderbird Lodge was the perfect location for our 3-night stay to visit the Grand Canyon. Our room was no more than 20 metres from the edge of the canyon itself and the South Rim Trail passes through the site of the village's main hotel / lodge area, so it's super easy to access the trail whenever you like. Staff were really friendly and we found the prices of food and gifts in the shops to be reasonable - especially given you're a captive audience!

Grand surprise

I had no idea when booking that a "partial view" meant being right on the canyon rim with a tree or two in the way. We had an ADA room that was perfect, with its own sidewalk to the room (no steps) and the bathroom was spacious. Two chairs so we could look out the window from inside or sit on our little entry patio.
