Lovely budget option, but noisy neighbours
This was my third stay at the Fantastic Guest House. It is a great little place to stay. The rooms are clean and functional, there is A/C and cable TV and a refrigerator in your room too. The bathrooms are nice also. My stay was great except for one small thing - my neighbours. Sadly, I was unknowingly staying next door to 2 or 3 rooms booked out to kids on some kind of trip. I had gotten in on a late flight from the UK and was really tired and a bit jet lagged. They arrived to the hotel at around 10pm and were very noisy in the hall outside. The room I was in also had a door to the adjoining room, which was not very soundproof and I was therefore woken up once or twice in the night and also could hear them in the morning. Apart from that, this was another lovely stay at the Fantastic; I just hope for my next stay I have quieter neighbours!

Fantastic stay at the Fantastic Guest House
This was my second stay at the Fantastic Guest House. I preferred my room to the one I stayed in last time; I had a larger room before which seemed as if it had been filled with furniture to take up the space, but my room this time was smaller and with 2 beds, so all the furniture felt like it had a purpose. I love that you get a fridge in your room. A thoughtful addition. I had a great stay, and will stay again.

An ok place to stay on a budget
Not the most glamours place to stay, but the view of the marina was impressive. On a back residential street so a little unnerving walking at night but had no issues. Within walking distance to food and the market. Room had dishes frig and stove so good if you are looking to do your own meals.

Excellent value for the money
Value for the money is what we all look for, right? This lil' hotel is set in a residential neighborhood and maybe doesn't look so hot from the outside, but the rooms are very clean, a/c worked just fine, beds are comfortable, towels are crispy white, and our room had a nice view of the harbor. I asked for a couple of softer pillows and they sent some immediately. They have a nice, clean pool we used. All noisy traffic and music stops at 10 p.m. and we had a very restful sleep. Value for the money paid is excellent.

Centrally located comfortable, clean hotel with a beautiful view. Perfect for vacation on a budget, The place is clean, has a lovely swimming pool, friendly service staff, wonderful veranda perfectly suited for take out meals. Close to restaurants and shopping of every kind. Utilize buses, they are very inexpensive and will take you anywhere. The neighborhood is safe and everyone is friendly despite of how it might look at a first glance.

I stayed at the Fantastic Guest House for one night. Just a heads up for anyone planning to book this place -- even though credit card information is entered on expedia in order to book the place it doesn't mean the payment has been so you would have to pay the final cost in person.

Decent Budget Hotel
The hotel is definitely showing its age and is in a poor section of town. That being said, it functions well as a simple sleep, shower, and relax room in between exploring the island, and the staff, when you actually see them, are very nice and accomadating. It has a nice flatscreen tv with spotty satellite cable reception, a squeeky bed, a tiny bathroom with warm water, and a mini fridge. The terrace is very nice and spacious with a great view and there is a pool, but I didn't see anyone use it during my stay. Parking is on a busy street so fold your rental car's mirrors in, but you can walk around Marigot easily enough and hail a cheap bus or expensive taxi ride. The neighborhood is a bit rough, but as long as you're polite and smart about your behavior no one will bother you. It's definitely not the tourist side of town, so you'll be in amongst the real residents of St. Martin/Maarten, which is a definite plus. If you're on a budget, this hotel will get the job done, but if you're planning on a romantic hotel location, I'd choose another hotel. (Thin walls).

One night stay. I just needed a place for one night bc my vacation place was not able to start until the next day. It was ok for one night stay, would not stay for a long term I.e. 4 or or more days. It was just ok. Reception is not manned most of the time.

I was at this guest house only for overnite. It is a budget hotel. It has no elevator and rooms on the second and third floor Not really for a vacation. But OK for short sdtasy I left a book in my room called Spartacus War. I emailed the hotel to see if I can pick it up on Monday 27 March or28 March I have gotten no reply. Great short stay budget hotel
Stayed one night at the Fantastic Guest house after two weeks of island hopping. Easy to find on the main road, not many parking spaces but this was an overnight we before the airport so not a problem for us. Room on 3rd floor. No lift and steep stairs and my partner uses a stick so that was a little tricky (but if we had read reviews we would of realised this before booking). Room was huge with two double beds, bed linen was crispy white and spotless and the towels again pure white and very fluffy. Carpet was spotless and room was cool and smelt nice. The ensuite is small but did have a shower and 1/2 bath and again spotless. The decor and furnishings are dated and look old fashioned but the cleanliness makes up for that. There is a fridge in the room, air con and the wifi was free and fast. It's not the prettiest of areas at the front, looks a bit run down but don't let that intimidate you. All the local folk were fab. The marina is two mins walk with fab shops and places to eat or you can walk down to the market areas where there are lots of patisseries etc. The staff are really helpful. The taxi was $20 back to the airport. Wouldn't recommend for a long stay in St. Martin but for short stay (ferry terminal at Marigot is 5 mins away) it's fine.

Mold in the air conditioning vents
Staff was very nice but the air conditioning vents had black mold. Was really disgusting and I'm feeling sick since staying.
