Learn more about London

Forget the double-decker bus tours – the real London reveals itself when ducking into centuries-old pubs where Shakespeare might have scribbled sonnets over ale. The British Museum houses treasures from every civilization, all available without spending a penny. Witness the ancient ceremony of the keys at the Tower of London, then compare crown jewels to the sparkling skyline from the London Eye's glass pods. Theater-lovers can score half-price West End tickets at Leicester Square's TKTS booth. Trafalgar Square's pigeons have been banished, but the people-watching remains superb. For a perfect afternoon, grab picnic supplies at Borough Market before sprawling on the grass in Hyde Park, watching locals pretend the fleeting sunshine is perfectly normal.

President Hotel

8/10 Good
"An easy place to stay for someone older and interested in seeing the British Museum that is across Russel Square from the hotel. I enjoyed the variety of the buffet breakfast. Staff were helpful. My room with a double bed was small, tucked over what I can only describe as the industrial alley of the hotel. No traffic noise but white noise coming from what might be the air filtration system. No great view except the alley and noisy during the day as there were work men making repairs to the building in the area, alley, outside the windows which are old, single paned, and let in the noise. The windows can be opened. I like white noise. The room was adequate, clean, the service good, and hotel very well located."

Additionally, Hotels.com's Smart Shopping tool, available via the app, allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you stay updated on any price drops or available rooms for your last-minute getaway.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate based on various factors, including the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Being flexible with your travel dates may help you find a better deal on your stay in a London hotel. If you're seeking a unique experience, boutique hotels often provide a more personalized atmosphere and can sometimes offer great value. When you book through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If it happens to be on the higher side, we may suggest alternative dates that could lead to more affordable options.
  4. Consider your location: Hotels near downtown often come with higher price tags, but thanks to London's excellent public transportation system, you might find an affordable independent hotel a bit farther out that’s still well connected. For those interested in exploring alternative, less crowded neighborhoods or even lesser-known nearby cities, there is usually excellent value for money.
