Great hotel, lovely staff.
The stay was great, staff are excellent. The room was lovely and clean, slight down was the walls were marked but everything that could be cleaned was spotless. I marked down as on our last morning there was no hot water, this was due to their boiler breaking down so not a fault of the hotel, the reception apologised and said that we were welcome to use the showers in the spa! But unfortunately it was freezing outside and it's a bit of a walk to the spa so a cold wash had to do!! Will stay there again without any qualms!!

Good but some flaws
Really friendly staff and service, The room was clean and good standard. We had dinner at the restaurant which was extremely nice both myself and my partner enjoyed the food. Now the not so good bits.. The halls are a bit dated and could do with being updated The walls are definitely paper thin and definitely need to be soundproof as other reviews have suggested. Breakfast was disappointing not the same standard as the evening meal was and it was in the same restaurant

Good stay in a comfy room
Hotel part was amazing. Great food in the resteraunt too. Really nice spacious room, well equipped. Spa was a bit disappointing, quite a few facilities out of order. Also a guy with a child in the spa area and another in there using a phone! Made my partner a bit uneasy with it being a camera phone. Just no need and shouldn’t be permitted, in my view.

Very helpful
Stayed while attending a wedding at nearby Tŷ’n Dŵr Hall. Due the business of Christmas, had difficulties with transport. The staff were very helpful in phoning for taxis etc. nice comfortable stay with a spa.

Overall - decent hotel
Great service, excellent food and the drinks offering was exceptional. Best I've seen in any hotel. Breakfast was decent too. Spa and gym facilities were excellent, loads of equipment. I had an executive room which was the best on offer. It was tired, not particularly clean either. Loads of dust behind the TV and there were stains on the bed runner. The door handle of the bathroom opened directly on to the edge of the shower glass, stupid design floor. Someone unknowingly opens the bathroom door too hard and thats a disaster waiting to happen. Needs addressing urgently. Finally, the lighting in the car park is very poor. Extremely difficult to see where you're walking when moving from the gym back to the hotel. Aside from that, the stay was great.

Lovely Views & nice staff
Very pleased our room was upgraded and we had an excellent view of the river. Bed comfortable, breakfast fine and price was fair. As others have mentioned noise does travel in the hotel and the grout etc in the bathroom needed refreshing.

Cannot fault
Booked this hotel for my son and his girlfriend so they could just get away from real life and detach for a night. They came back looking renewed and full of life again, they couldn’t stop raving about how good the breakfast (especially the sausages) was and how comfortable the bed was. I went with them to make sure check in was ok and the receptionist was absolutely flawless and so welcoming. Exceptionally gorgeous hotel, definitely need to stay there myself now.

Gone downhill
This used to be such a great hotel. I stay there 5-6times a year. It has really gone downhill in the last 18months. Looks tired dirty and needs a lot of maintenance. The WiFi is now really bad as well and struggles to even send emails. A real shame as the staff are really nice, friendly and helpful
