Breakfast at the restaurant was good. Hotel itself is old, lots of stairs to climb, and not very bright. Room was basic and some tea cups were not washed.parking is available at the car park behind (not very expensive) but taking the bags from the car park and climbing those stairs was not easy.

Room was very strange with a tiny window high up and stairs next to the bed leading to another door. Bed was okay and it was quiet enough. No table ready for us at breakfast so we were seated at a small round table well away from the other residents and the coffee etc. Breakfast was nice and hot and was good.

Average

Check in quick and easy. Room is totally fine, very clean. However, the bed was so soft it had absolutely no support and it felt like you were going to fall out of it all night. If you need a hairdryer etc you need to get from reception which is a bit inconvient. When my husband was having a shower the water cut out completely. Breakfast is included and was actually very nice. Overall, it is okay for a night.

First time in Dunfermline

We stayed here as we were going to Knockhill, which was ten mins away . Staff very friendly, room clean, but as we were facing the High Street, it was very noisy. Would go back but request a room at the back. Great location for shops, restaurants and the lovely Pittencrieff Park.

The hotel was clean and well run. There isnt a lift, so wouldn't be suitable for people with mobility issues. There is a pay & display car park immediately outside the hotel's back entrance, which costs £4 a day. Breakfast was excellent. The full Scottish included haggis and black pudding. The only gripe is that they say that guests aren't allowed to eat takeaway food in their rooms. The evening I had a takeaway, it was perfect weather for eating outside, but i wouldn't have been happy in bad weather

Overpriced and a bit disappointing

The restaurant to dine was good and the service great. The breakfast was not the best we had but was good nonetheless. A big thank you to the staff that was adorable and helpfull. The room was a good size but I can't understand that they put a "family" room over the bar when they know that the family is staying a saturday night, which is the karaoke night. We were warned about the noise but the bed for our daughter was in front of the window and the music was really really loud. At some point, either you move the "family" room away from the bar OR you isolate the room better. We asked for a cleaning of the room at some point of our week stay and one towel was stained as well as some sheets. That's not the kind of thing you expect when you pay that price. Yes, it is well placed but I am not sure we would recommend it ou come again.

Two night stay with friends. Great location, staff were nice. In particular Dave, the night shift guy, we was very nice. Really polite and capable. My room was on the second floor, so lots of stairs to carry stuff up and down.

Night in the City

Our visit was just a one night stay as we were attending a concert in the town. The Hotel location was perfect for us and the hotel was absolutely clean, comfortable and sufficient for all our needs.

Not bad at all.

This is a good economic choice, and is way cheaper than many others. Just be aware that there may be som enoice from the bar. However from midnight at latest, i slept undisturbed there. If budget is a key factor, you will be nice and safe at this hotel for a hard to beat price. No frills, and very good breakfast. I might come another time as well

I was in a single room and it didn't cost much. It was fairly basic but had everything I needed and I was happy enough. What I really loved was the breakfast. It was top notch. I was travelling for business but am now thinking of returning to the area for a short break and another brilliant breakfast. I had a bit of spare time and took a walk in the lovely park just near the hotel, it was huge and very well maintained. I plan to return there with the kids. I had been worried about parking at the hotel as they only have a few spaces but there is a large car park just behind the hotel which was free after a certain time and seemed fairly reasonably priced for such a central location.
