The bed was comfortable and it was quiet. We were charged $190 a night. No hairdryer, curtain needs fixing, mould in bathroom shower, bathroom door Jammed, no sharp knife, outside area was dirty and neglected. Maximum cost should have been around $130/night.

The room was dark and dingey, and as it was situated next to the stairs on the lower level, you could hear all noise from the pool as well as the foot traffic on the stairwell and rooms above. The road noise is also pretty loud from around 5am. We stayed 3 nights, and our room was not cleaned or serviced during our stay except for fresh towels, bin emptied, and a top up of coffee sachets. The beds weren’t made, and dishes weren’t done. It was a little cold for us to use the pool, but the spa was filthy so after an initial 5min warm up we opted not to use this again. Overall our stay was really disappointing for the cost. I expected more for $200 a night. The only highlight was the stand-in manager, who was very amiable and lovely to chat with. I would not recommend staying here.

Good, Dependable Motel near Airport

Less than 5 minutes drive from Napier Airport, the Albatross Motel is also a close drive to central Napier, restaurants near Ahuriri, and the Esk Valley wine region as well as being across the road from the Ahuriri Lagoon and its walks. Great to stay here again and would be happy to stay again!
