If you drive, do NOT stay this. No car park there although it said they have. Only a public car park on the street and I need to wait for halt hour for the parking as the public car park is very busy and lots of local people will lock your car and asked for money.

Authentic local experience
Our first trip to Marrakesh just left me wanting more. What an incredible and friendly place. A different world. La Port Rouge was amazing. Lovely rooms and decor. Helpful staff and delicious breakfast.

Highly recommended
The Riad La Porte Rouge was a fantastic hotel to stay at. Full of charm and personality. The owner and his staff practically bent over backwards to ensure our stay was as comfortable as possible. I found the room to be clean and a great size for me, my wife and son. Due to the time of year we visited, the room was particularly cold at night. The air conditioning unit didn't help much but the Riad was kind enough to lend us their portable heater which helped to take the edge off a bit. The water in the shower was also a bit temperamental and I ended up with a luke warm or colder than I'd like shower on one or two occassions. Really not a deal breaker though. The location was a very straightforward walk to the centre, it took about 30 - 35 minutes and was safe and pleasant so long as you watch out for motorbikes. Overall, my family and I very much enjoyed staying at this Riad and would recommend it.

Pros: * El riad es limpio y está bien cuidado. * Desayuno incluído típico marroquí 10/10. Contras: * La ubicación y entorno. Está en un barrio lleno de talleres de reparación de motocicletas y es una caminata de 30 minutos hacia la place Jemaa el-Fnaa. No se siente el más seguro para salir de noche. * Los cargos extras se deben pagar en efectivo.

Amazing Riad!
The Riad is really cozy with a beautiful courtyard and a rooftop with sunbeds. The room is gorgeous and the beds very comfy. We also had heating on the room making it a great place to stay even during winter when it can get cold outside. The breakfast was great too and really served with much love. The only negative I have is that the location is not that great. It’s around 15min walk to the closest restaurants and about 30min to the Medina. We didn’t find it to be a problem though and walked everywhere. It’s a very quiet street but didn’t feel unsafe. The hot tube on the roof could be a bit warmer and needs some fixing, some of the tiles are quite sharp. Would definitely stay here again!

Ottimo rapporto qualita prezzo
Siamo arrivati alle 3:30 di mattina per un aereo ritardato ed lo staff era molto gentile di immediatemente accompagnarci in stanza dicendo che le formalita avremmo fatto in mattina. Poi la mattina ci aspettava una super colazione in un cortile davvero accogliente. Un peccato che potevamo stare solo una notte perche il viaggio continuava.

Malgré une arrivée tardive, j' ai pu bénéficier d'un massage de très grande qualité par Haït(massage en profondeur, professionnel). Le dîner préparer par Mustapha était aussi délicieux et très copieux. Très attentionné,il m'a conseillé et soutenu pour un probleme de voiture de location. Adorable, il a pris soin de savoir si tout c'était bien passé. Le Riad est évidemment enchanteur dans une ruelle calme à 100m à pied de la rue accessible en voiture. N'ayez crainte du quartier animé, même de nuit et seule aucun problème pour une femme.

My brother and me were amazed by that cute riad! Our time there was simply perfect! The people working there are full of kindness! They'll help you with everything (transfer, sightseeing, tours, questions etc.)! The food is delicious and soo yummy. We are so happy and totally recommend the "riad la porte rouge" for everyone. Estuvimos 3 noches en el Riad y no tuvimos ningún problema con nuestra habitación, la cama muy cómoda y contamos con todo lo necesario para nuestra estancia. Mustafa fue el mejor anfitrión que el Riad puede tener, siempre muy atento y educado. Lo único que podríamos recomendar es que se cobre o se recuerde al hacer el Check-in la cantidad a pagar por el impuesto de estancia ya que el último día horas antes de irnos al aeropuerto nos lo cobraron y ya no teníamos más efectivo y no aceptaban tarjeta para pagarlo.

Excellent service. Big rooms Did not have card facilities when I had to pay for services after querying items in the bill. I had to set off in the dark in search of a cash point which was very stressful as I didn’t feel safe. 6 euros for a pot of mint tea is very steep when you can have full menus for that same price outside the property. Despite advertising a pool it was not in use with tables and a flower pot clearly blocking access. The advertised jacuzzi was neither hot or fully functioning (only 3 spouts worked) and parts of it were sharp to the touch cutting the skin when sitting on the tiles. Nearly 30 minutes walk to the Medina but close to Badi Palace and Saadien Tombs.

En skikkelig nedtur
Jeg bestilte dette stedet fordi det står at de har overmadrass i sengene (det var det ikke) og at det lå nært til Agdal hagen. Riaden ligger i et smug i et typisk boligstrøk og virker trangt . Vi hadde rom på takterassen som er trang og skitten. Det er heller ingen utsikt fra takterrassen da murene er høye. Jakussien på taket var stengt.

The property itself is amazing. An authentic Moroccan experience. Hospitality exceeded expectations. The only thing of concern was to find the property. My husband and I had our own car. Navigation brought us in the proximity of the property. But without the help of a local we would not have been able to find it. We had to park our car on the street( we were told it was safe). Then we had to walk with our luggage approximately 500 m through narrow passages to our hotel. This was an experience of its own , but I suggest that the property places some signs to be easily found. Bazaar around the property was noisy and dirty. Locals are friendly and helpful.

A very friendly and helpful staff. Property is charming, quiet and comfortable, if a bit far from most attractions, such as Djama El Fna, a 20 min. walk away, half on noisy, traffic-filled streets. But easy enough to get a taxi to and fro. Would stay there again.
