Stressful Check-in
The Good: The hotel was comfortable and pleasant. The hotel breakfast has a decent variety of options and our suite was large and easily accommodated our party of 6.
The Bad: We had two parties in our group. The other party checked in first, under our name, for the room we were sharing since our flight had been delayed by 3 hours. When we arrived to check in, the hotel could not locate our reservation. We tried for over an hour to sort out the situation, but the hotel kept telling us that we didn’t have a reservation and would need to find a room elsewhere, despite confirmation from the booking agency that we had a room and continued mention that the other party sharing our room had checked in. We had been trying to call the other party, but due to poor cell reception, we hadn’t been able to reach them. After over an hour of this, we managed to get ahold of the other party and they came down and then the hotel tried to tell us we couldn’t share the room or have extra keys, despite the fact that we had called to confirm our reservation three weeks prior and added the 2nd party to the room at that time. They finally gave us extra keys and allowed us to check in, but we did not appreciate the hour of stress and fear that we would have to find another hotel room at 10 pm with 3 kids in tow. Oh and for a group of 6, there were only 2 towels in our suite.
