Great Value for money
Small but comfortable room. Fantastic access to Bristol Airport where I had a relatively early flight the following day. Great value for money for a hotel within a comfortable distance of the airport.

Heating in big room not good enough
Room was so cold arrived at 10pm and had electric heater that did not work properly. Radiator was blasting out heat but so small it made no difference. Ended up sleeping in the bath as bathroom was warmest place left at 4am for flight saw no one to complain

Could be better perhaps I had the low budget room
Ok for a one night stop over with very friendly welcome from reception, however my room was due a refurbishment. Cobwebs and spiders in every corner. No tv remote, broken flush on WC, scalding hot water (with warning signs), creaking floorboards above me that kept me awake all night, generally noisy all night, thin duvet and with 4° outside no evidence of how to control heating with only one cold radiator in the room. Would I stay again? Probably not.

Although competitively priced, with the added feature of gym/spa, this venue has seen better days. The room was satisfactory and the public areas reasonably comfortable. Everywhere else was ragged and tired looking.

An interesting hotel that had plenty of character. Staff were very good and attentive. The restaurant was spacious, the food was very good and well served. A convenient distance from the motorway with great views over the levels.

Such a shame.
Note - if staying for business a lot of the rooms have no mobile signal. Free WiFi is available and is on the whole quick enough. The hotel is dated, I’m sure in its hay day it was a lovely place. On arrival my room smelt of smoke, I mentioned this to reception and was advised to “open the window for a bit”. This didn’t help for the 4 days I was there. One day my room wasn’t cleaned, called reception - were sorry but housekeepers had gone home. Room itself had stains on the carpet, curtains that were hanging off letting in daylight, and pillows that I am convinced were made of card board. I was on my own and used all 4 pillows to get any sort of support. Pool has to be booked so if hoping to jump in after work you need to plan ahead. Breakfast was an odd experience too, quite expensive when compared to similar hotels, buffet style but fried eggs were an “extra” you could order these but they took 10mins to come out meaning all your other food was cold. I shan’t be returning.

Fine for a night!
Lovely staff and perfect for a one night stop over. The room was a good size and had a bath which was a plus clean and tidy however did look pretty dated and tired in some areas. Loud in general the room was not very sound proof and we heard alot through the walls/from the corridor. The bed was very very comfy though! Squeaky floor boards however and no nets meant we had to keep the curtains shut the whole time. I would happily stay again for one night but not more than that.

Decent Chain Hotel
Friendly welcome. Room was typical chain hotel style, but comfortable. Could have been cleaner (cobwebs in corners, dusty surfaces). Food was OK, service was attentive and friendly. Would stay here again, and maybe take advantage of the leisure facilities.

Take ear plugs
Had a wonderful stay here. Staff were friendly, food was great, room & hotel was clean. My only negative is that the walls are very thin! I could here everything in the next room, from phone conversations, to using the bathroom. I expect not much can be changed as it's an old building. So my only recommendation is for people to take ear plugs! I'm glad I brought my own eye mask, as the room was bright at night with the light from outside. But overall a lovely experience, and would happily go back (with ear plugs)

Standards need to improve

Always a nice stay.
Only a flying visit of 1 night this time, but a very comfortable one. Staff are excellent as always and the fish and chips at the bar was very nice. Managed to use the pool in the morning but got there too late for the Sauna and Steam room this time. My room was small, but perfect for a one night with a double bed and shower/wc room.

Lovely stay
Stayed here for one night and wish it was more. From the moment we arrived the receptionist was so lovely and welcoming it was great. Didn't eat in the restaurant as we were going out but breakfast buffet was lovely and plentiful. Booked a massage in the Spa and Eloise the beautician was amazing, she was so kind and friendly, the massage was wonderful, highly recommend. Over all good stay

Very bad nights sleep
We didn’t know there was a Christmas party happening when we booked and the music was so so loud and lasted until midnight. We came for a quiet night away so it would’ve been nice to know and we’d have booked somewhere else. Heating went off in the middle of the night and couldn’t turn it back on and it was freezing. No hot water in the morning. Bed was very uncomfortable with thin duvet and thin pillows. Room very dated.
