Homely

Friendly staff. Car park a bit tight at the front but hotel reserves a space in your name. Good food in a nice setting

This was our second stay here. We booked "Half Board", and were upgraded to a better room which was very good indeed. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Our only slight concern was with our dinner main course, which seemed less good than previously. Hopefully this was "a glitch"

6/10 Good

The pictures of the hotel and the room are nothing like the real thing. The hotel Is dated with a rather bleak atmosphere and is not too pleasant. Our room was facing the street with a horrible view of the entrance roof. Our reservation was half board so included dinner at the Bistro. We then found out our meal was very limited and had to pay extra with every meal. Breakfast, however, was very nice in terms of food and service but again, very bleak. We had an OK minus stay.
This is the view from our room.

a great place to stay

I look for quality and value for money; I want a clean spacious room; I want a restaurant that delivers good quality food; I want quiet; convenience in the centre of town... I stay regularly at the Hotel du Vin in Tunbridge Wells as it delivers on everything

Delivers on many fronts, classic room small.

Friendly boutique hotel with lovely gardens, it has a nice relaxed feel to it. Classic room was small, felt squashed. Bathroom had power shower, which was great, L'Occitane toiletries excellent. Bed comfy but only standard size. If there for more than a couple of nights I would want bigger room. Brreakfast good sleection and cooked breakfast tasty and well presented, can take a little while as cooked completely fresh to order. Overall I think expensive

8/10 Very good

Generally good, but additional staff training reqd

The hotel itself was very good, and well situated, with comfortable clean rooms, and the breakfast was also very good. The only real downside was the staff attitude in general: whilst they completed their tasks, they were not particularly friendly and welcoming, which, in a town where other hotels are available, is particularly important! Mangemnt need to do some additional customer service training.

6/10 Good

Great hotel, poor room.

After looking forward to our stay, we can honestly say, the general hotel is lovely- however the room we had was very disappointing. The room was so small, you could not swing a cat! It was so small you could not put a suitcase anywhere other than on the bed. I would recommend the hotel just for a visit/food, just don’t bother staying over!
Sean, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Good hotel and nice garden and attentive staff. Only 3 stars as I needed 30 minutes late checkout so I could have teams call. They wanted to charge me £15 for this which I thought is poor and a bit grabby. I understand if it’s for hours and how it would mess up a cleaning rota etc , but for 30 minutes ? Really! Won’t be using this chain again because of this policy.
Samuel, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

The staff were polite and helpful, but in both the bar and restaurant the service was slow and inattentive. No table service in the bar and an overly long wait between starter and main course, whether due to lack of staff or insufficient training.

Smooth luxury in the heart of Tunbridge Wells

My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at the Hotel du Vin in Tunbridge Wells and thought it was lovely. We booked a junior suite for two nights (Mon and Tues) so it wasn't cheap, but we were happy with the overall value. We didn't have dinner at the hotel (because of the mediocre restaurant reviews). The room was stylish and everything worked well (except the Nespresso machine!). The bed was enormous and very comfortable. Our room was at the front of the hotel and being opposite the police station I worried that it'd be noisy but it wasn't at all. The location is ideal for Tunbridge Wells town centre. Parking just up the road in the council's Crescent Road car park was easy and reasonable value. No need to pay £10 for a small hotel space out the front. Breakfast both mornings was decent quality, although the cooked food wasn't very hot and my full English didn't seem at all freshly cooked the first morning. Lots of choice though. All the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Thank you.

A review

I couldn't fault the welcome, check in was super quick and friendly. I got lost in the hotel as there is no signage and the verbal directions were a little quiet so I couldn't hear. The rooms are named after wines and brandy which was a nice touch but made navigation trickier. Room was cosy and super comfy, it had everything that I needed. Coffee bags as opposed to instant so that was good. Nice view of a luscious green, well maintained lawn. My only issue was with breakfast, despite giving a month's notice that I required a vegan breakfast, there was no vegan sausage. I was given an extra half of defrosted avocado. The scrambled tofu arrived late (as apparently they cooked me an egg) and it was super wet and tasted slightly metallic. The oat milk curdled in the coffee. Overall a rather uninspiring breakfast and to top it off, the cleaner was vacuuming the stairs right by the bistro so constant noise. Breakfast service was being cleared whilst guests were still coming in.

Excellent service. Great breakfast. Comfortable bed and lovely views. A great town setting. We would be happy to return if in the area again.

Great room, disappointing cooking.

Had best room in hotel with discount. Large, great park views and bath in room. Good biscuits, milk, chocolate and coffee. My fillet steak was undercooked. V disappointing. I was given a discount after it was cooked some more, but not what you want.

Charming, cozy, and great place

This is a very lovely hotel. The rooms are a bit small but it’s all you need. The rooms were clean quite and cozy. The food was very good we are there 3 times on our stay we both loved the onion soup. I had chicken it was very good and well prepared. Can’t say enough about the staff they were all great, friendly, and helpful.
