The room and the bathroom are very spacious. The bathroom floor and part of the wall are made of marble which was very nice. The water tap in the wash basin needs to be changed as they did not work well. The water kettle in the room was broken though still working. The room wasn't very sound proof as I could hear people walking above . I had to call the receptionist twice to keep the children in the room above me jumping about. The hotel staff were friendly.

Touch the rainforest and can heard the sweet birds
Good Location touch the rainforest and can heard the sweet birds, nice service, very beautiful swimming pool with white water slide, suit for family like us and any one, I recommend. We arrival about am 8:30, it's early due to the flight we take, specially appreciate let us check in on 9:00 then we all could take a rest.

有蚂蚁，百年服务，无进取
4星是对酒店硬件的评级，其实没有微笑，设施太老，有蚂蚁，还不少，热水是黄的，放了10分钟还是黄的的，就没清过，check in的时候，告诉我住两晚，不知是不是圈套，booking明明是2成人和1小孩，free早餐，却要收我小孩的早餐20马币，最后打开邮件给他看（pdf的文件这些都没写，hotesl.com有责任应该写清楚），就没收钱，马虎的话，20马币就没了。游泳池整天都看不见服务员，也没有大毛巾摆着，我35天的行程，性价比最差的一个，唯一的优势就是百年老店，与我又何干？？？

经典的星级酒店，服务很好，泳池很nice，去城区走路20分钟，打车10MB，山打根没夜生活的，晚上去城区都找不到吃的，还不如在酒店吃，这里很适合休息~

Nice grounds but scarcity of water and sugar
We had 2 bottles of water in our room. We asked for more in the evening; they said they would deliver but didn’t. In the morning we asked again, they said no access at front desk. After insisting they went to an empty room and finally gave us some.

Vacker utsikt från hotellet, men det är inte gjort för att ta sig någonstans till fots utanför hotellets område. Inga trottoarer. Supervänlig personal och trivsam atmosfär. Poolen är bra och det går att bada länge på kvällarna. Rummen är enkla, men rena. Sängarna lite fastare, men det gillar vi. Däremot är restaurangerna av lägre standard. Plantation Café är helt ok, men den kinesiska är direkt oätlig. Långsam och krånglig service också. Ingen av oss kunde äta upp.

We loved our stay at Sabah hotel as a family of two adults and one child (9yrs old). We booked it for the pool mainly as we knew Sandakan town didn't have much to offer compared to other places on our trip. My daughter loved the pool especially the slides and they provide free pool towels which was great too. The rooms were cleaned daily and were very spacious and we had a pool view. The decor is a little dated and rooms a bit musty but the rooms had air con which was such a relief to get back to after a day in the heat. We used Sandakan as a base for our trips to the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation centre and for an overnight trip to Turtle Island to see the baby turtles being released into the sea. Both were fantastic and I'd highly recommend! Sabah hotel is about 5 mins drive to the main town and as it's situated on a hill we used Grab taxis to get to and from the town as it was too hot to walk it with our daughter. Breakfast was included which was another big plus for us and it was buffet style and had lots of options. We ate a few times in the Plantation cafe during lunch or dinner and were impressed with the quality of food. Overall we loved our stay and would recommend to anyone.

As a family of two adults and one child (9yrs) we had a great time at Sabah Hotel. Although the hotel and rooms are starting to look a little tired and smell a bit musty they were a really goodsl size and we had our rooms cleaned every day with fresh towels etc. My daughter absolutely loved the pool and slide and it was a great place for us to relax in between our travels around Malaysia, Borneo and Singapore. We used this hotel as a base for seeing the orangutans at Sepilok and also a night on Selingan island to see the turtles lay eggs and to release babies back into the sea- both of which were incredible experiences and I highly recommend!! We used Grab taxis to get around the town. Not an awful lot to do in the town itself. The hotel is on a hill from the main town and as the temps were 30/32 degrees most days it would have been too hot to walk it. Grabs are convenient and cheap and we also did a load of washing at the laundromat in the town. The staff were all so friendly, smiley, welcoming and attentive. They all seem to really care about the hotel and making sure your experience is great. Would highly recommend anyone to stay here.
