It was great! Superb facilities and staff. Will be back there soon. A very minor thing missing was some tea and coffee in the room which I think should be standard in a 5 star establishment.

We recently stayed at Monte Santo for 10 days during September. The apartment was nicely decorated, spacious and well equipped. Which was perfect for us as we were travelling with two hound children. The Monte Santo grounds and beautiful and the pool is a great spacious area to relax. Service from the bar and restaurant were reasonable. The bar was very expensive, Staff were friendly but service was slow despite there being a limited number of guests during our stay. The food in the restaurant was okay, Not mind blowing and the experience didn’t reflect the price. There are many better restaurants within a 20 minute walk of Monte Santo in Carvoeiro.

This resort is beautiful whether for a family or just a couple. Our family of 6 adults and 4 children had 3 x 2 bedroom luxury townhouses and they had everything in them for a relaxing holiday. There was loads of cupboard space and the cleaners came in every day and replaced all the towels and even left a dishwasher tablet. The grounds are immaculate and we all made use of the indoor pool but only the children were brave enough to venture into the outdoor pools which were very cold in February. The resort is ideally placed for visiting all the local beaches and there are many good restaurants. We will certainly hope to return.

The suite was nice, had a washroom and a bathroom so it helped getting ready in the mornings. The porch door would not lock and even after multiple discussions with the front desk, nothing was done about it. Even if the chance of thievery is low, it's a matter of safety and unfortunately, we were disappointed. Nevertheless, the resort was a nice place overall, good breakfast.

Large rooms with plenty of space. Lounge and dining furniture dated. Shower outlet blocked and despite numerous requests to have this rectified the issue remained unresolved. Restaurant noisy with large numbers of uncontrolled children. No variety in food menu in restaurant. Room service meal delivered cold and inedible. Majority of staff at reception unfriendly. Gym and indoor swimming pool inaccessible before breakfast.

Excellent apartment - spacious with every extra you could need. It is slightly on outskirts of town - easy walk downhill but preferred to get a taxi back up, particularly in evening. Some good restaurants within 10/15 mins walking but you need to seek them out, the same with the small supermarkets. Car is needed to get to two big supermarkets on Lagoa road. Used restaurant once for breakfast and it as very nice but slightly on pricey side.

A lot of thought has gone into this property. Nicely laid out, spacious, kitchen is fully equipped. It would be nice if they put a mirror in at least one of the bedrooms by the dresser so that you can sit down and do your hair/make instead of the bathroom. The house was very good and had top end quality furnishings, ie granite worksufaces and nice furniture, except....for the beds. For a 5* property they really were awful. I didn't get a decent nights sleep. I could feel the springs, the mattresses were well worn and dipped in places. If they can't change them all, then at least put good mattress toppers on to save peoples backs. We paid a lot of money for this holiday and the other downside was the cleaning. For 5* the bedding should have been changed daily. On day 5 I called reception and asked how often the beds should be changed. I was told every day to which I told them I still had the same bed sheets and pillow cases. I asked for the manager to call me and I am still waiting for that call, which is disappointing. They sent a new team in to clean our townhouse and I saw a difference, the new team mopped the floors every day and wiped surfaces and changed the beds. I should have been refunded for the days of non-cleaning and an apology but I didn't even get a call back let alone a discussion. The last thing I wanted was to have arguments on a holiday that we had paid a lot of money on so they can have this review instead.
