Hotels.com allowed us to book a room when the hotel staff said there were no such rooms available. The hotel staff were great but hotels.com representatives were absolutely horrible in handling this, later blaming this on the hotel and claiming they were only "mediators." There was no resolution and my family had to split up and stay with friends for the night.

I won't be staying here again.
I'll start by saying we have stayed here before and it was nice so expectations were not unreasonable. After a few minutes in our room we noticed a sewage smell in the bathroom. A common smell in PV I figured it was just the toilet water and kept the lid closed. We learned the next day that the toilet was actually leaking from the main seal onto the bathroom floor. I went to the front desk and asked for a different room and was told it can only happen at 8-9am because of their computer and they are powerless to do anything else. They did send up some used beach towels to wrap around the base of the toilet for the night and offered me a different room to sleep in that was up 4 floors with no elevator. The next morning I was sick and so my wife went to the front desk. They told her there were no other rooms and that I had most likely gotten too much sun and being sick with a stomach bug would have nothing to do with raw sewage on the floor. After much wasted effort all they could do was offer to fix the toilet but we were done and wanted a refund for our last unused day. They could not do that as I booked through Expedia so I have to spend my time working with them for that. Also the AC in the room would shut off after running for 2 minutes and then turn on 15 minutes later. This room was terrible so if you stay here check your room and don't let them give you an old one. Also the front desk is not there to help. They treat you like you will steal towels.

Disappointing Stay Despite the Great Location
The Tropicana Hotel has a fantastic location, sitting directly on the beach. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. During my stay, I stayed in 2 different rooms in 2 different buildings yet both had the same issue—a strong, sickly smell of mold. Visible signs of mold were present near the AC units, and as someone allergic to mold, I barely got any sleep. My friends, who were also staying at the hotel, experienced sinus trouble, coughing, and noticed the same unpleasant odor. While the hotel may seem like a great deal for a beachfront stay, there’s a clear reason for the lower price. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone I care about, and I certainly won’t be returning. I am also attaching a picture of the extension cord they provided me for my BiPap machine, which raises further concerns about the hotel’s upkeep and safety standards.

Disappointed - better value elsewhere
No dresser for clothes….do not have brewed decaf coffee, margarine instead of butter…they maintain the grounds but not the rooms; they repair but do not finish the job….they only supply bottled water for the first day… Staff is very cordial but most of the time they stand around waiting for directions.. There are better options for the price paid.. Owners just cater to Mexicanos who will accept whatever is given them…Gringos expect more than just a room and better food for the price paid…

Buen lugar, el servicio deja que desear!
El lugar está muy bien ubicado, no se indicaba que tenían estacionamiento pero al llegar nos dijeron que sí y fue una grata sorpresa! Sin embargo el servicio en algunos lugares deja mucho que desear (no todas la personas), la señora de la toallas de muy mal genio y del servicio de restaurante en la playa, mejor ni hablamos!
