The hotel is just a few minutes' walk from MRT Dongmen Station (Red and Orange lines), making it incredibly convenient to travel around central Taipei. The narrow alley right behind the main street hosts a bustling morning food market where you can experience the sights and scents of traditional Taipei. There is also a small 7-Eleven in this alley, which was super handy for grabbing snacks on the way back from the station. ​The only downside was that my room smelled a bit musty, so I kept the windows open throughout my stay. Otherwise, it was clean and spacious enough for one person. However, the closet is too small for two people staying multiple nights—one of you would definitely have to live out of your suitcase! ;-) ​I highly recommend exploring the residential area behind the hotel. It’s fun to walk around, with plenty of local shops and eateries. Check out Tianjin Doujiang (天津豆漿), a local breakfast spot just a 10-minute walk away. Use Google Translate and you can get an authentic breakfast for only $2–3 USD! ​I would definitely stay here again if I visit Taipei solo.
