We want to warn you: do not book here. The staff was friendly enough, but we felt like we were being extorted. The food was not great but at least DOUBLE the price of the rest of Belize (and posted in USD). But you have no choice because the property is so isolated - you have to eat their mediocre, over-priced food. We took the hotel shuttle 30 minutes into the village of Placencia (only offered 4 times daily) to grocery shop.
You should also know that the property is a 3-hour drive from the international airport, for which you will pay 300 USD ONE WAY. Small local flights were even more, so calculate that into your trip. This additional $600 was not made clear by the hotel or Expedia when booking. Also, if the hotel books a return Covid test for you, they tack on an additional $25 from the already pricey $75 pp fee.
I am sure the property was once beautiful, but: doors need painting, kitchen needs upgrading. Our RCA TV remote did not match the Samsung TV and therefore did not work. The sofa was dirty with a broken cushion zipper. The patio furniture was NOT what they pictured so no lounging on our porch. The tennis courts are out of commission.
When talking to other tourists and locals, word was this place was to be avoided and we were regarded with pity.
I hate to even post this because I know that the local economy and these lovely people suffered during the last 2 years of Covid, but this property was so mismanaged, our trip DOUBLED in price.
