Locked out of my room for 2 hours!
My first time visiting Amelia Island to see some friends I haven’t met up with in about 15 years. Arrived at 4:30 pm Saturday night. Went across the street to have a nice dinner outdoors at Sliders, then off to bed early. Woke up early the next morning to catch the sunrise at Tortuga Jack’s. Everything was running smoothly until I got back to the hotel at around 7:45am. My key cards would not work, and I was locked out of my room for 2 hours! Plans to meet up with my friends were totally ruined, as I had to get to the airport for my flight. Also arrived later than scheduled, and was charged extra for my rental car. Upon checkout the manager didn’t say a word until I reminded her that I was the one who was locked out of my room for 2 hours. She then stated that if I wanted any compensation I had to go through Expedia. Upsetting to say that least that my trip to Amelia Island was upended and ruined solely due to WHERE I chose to stay. If I ever am able to make it back, I will stay somewhere that values their customers.

Comfortable Stay at Amelia Hotel
Hotel location was good, room was clean, staff was friendly. Some amenities were missing (e.g. no butter/jelly provided at breakfast, no kleenex in bathroom), but overall it was a nice stay.

This place looks and smells like a retirement home. Severe, poorly-fixed water damage throughout our entire room. Don’t walk around barefoot either, it’s not clean. I’m sure you can find something more comfortable for the money. I would not return nor recommend.

Not perfect but would return Exceptional employees
The employees were amazing! Especially third shift gal w dark hair and also the gal who was making waffles! Super good team at this hotel! Now that being said, there were a few reasons i couldnt give top stars on all things: 1. It was during a cold cold snap and i was unable to get the room quite warm enough - wasnt chilly enough to complain but would have liked temp to be able to increase by like 3 more degrees than it would. It would not get warmer than 69 even setting it all the way up to 74. 2. There are structural/paint issues, especially in bathroom - at some corners, the entire bottom was kind of crumbled and brown. 3. The tv!!! Would only get a few channels and they were all local type late night junk. No HBO or anything comparable. Settled on some old NCIS reruns loaded with commercials. Such a waste of a very nice and large tv!

The only issue I had was that I never had hot water in the shower. So both times I took a shower, that was a problem. Otherwise, it was a good stay - the location is great and the service behind the desk was good.

Very spur of the moment stay on way back to SC. Loved the location and cleanliness of the hotel.Staff was friendly and helpful. Very nice breakfast was included. I took beautiful sunrise pictures across the street before leaving. Definitely want to come back for a longer stay.

The Amelia Hotel was very nice. The room was clean and had a nice (not antiseptic) smell. The continental breakfast left much to be desired and the front desk was not very well staffed. Overall a decent stay and I would stay again, but would opt for breakfast at one of the local places instead of the hotel.

Great stop on Amelia Island.
The hotel was in good shape given its age. The staff did lots of little things,like folding the towels in a special way, that showed pride in their hotel. The front desk couldn’t have been more helpful.
