My wife and I recently spent 4 nights at Catalonia Playa Maroma and had a wonderful experience overall. The resort is beautiful and well-maintained, though not as flashy or upscale as some of the pricier options nearby—which, honestly, was perfectly fine for us. It offers great value without compromising on comfort or service.
The food wasn’t exceptional, but it was consistently good with enough variety to keep things interesting. We had very little to complain about in that department.
The only downside was the beach. There was some sort of vegetation floating in the water during our stay, which made it less enjoyable to swim in. As a result, we spent more time by the pool, which turned out to be a great alternative. From what we gathered, this issue was affecting most resorts in the area, so it’s not something specific to Catalonia Playa Maroma.
All in all, we had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. The atmosphere, service, and overall experience made it a great place to unwind. Would definitely recommend it to couples looking for a laid-back and scenic vacation spot.
