This was the cheapest hotel in town, so we had a fair idea of what to expect. Most of it matched our expectations - aging fixtures, a less-than-spotless feel - but the mattress in our room was truly awful, and there was only one very thin pillow (we asked for another, but they couldn’t provide).
The building itself is lovely, though very tired in places. On the plus side, the views over the bay are absolutely gorgeous, and the breakfast staff were especially warm and cheerful.
Overall, if you think of it more like a hostel, you’ll manage for a single night - but not much longer.
