Staying at this hotel was an absolutely wonderful experience. Despite the rainy season, it barely rained, and everything was perfect except for one half-day in the morning when we couldn't go into the sea due to so many jellyfish (but it was cleaned up in the afternoon). The ocean was beautiful with fish, completely free of trash, and the beach was clean as well. We also thoroughly enjoyed the non-marine facilities with our children, such as tennis, billiards, basketball, and so on. Spa was also great. During our stay, it was my son's birthday, and I was deeply touched when the staff prepared a cake and a surprise message for him without us even asking.

Great location as it’s close to the airport so only a 10 min ride by boat to the island. But it still feels like you are far away on a tropical island, perfect for families who don’t want to travel far when arriving in the Maldives. Rooms are super clean, cleaning staff came by twice a day. Facilities are very well maintained and there is everything you need. Staff is super friendly, helpful and welcoming. We were greeted with coconut ice cream while staff took care of the check in. Food is super high quality and delicious. Highly recommend Niva Kurumba for your stay in the Maldives.

Comfortable relaxing stay with nice atmosphere which fitted what we needed on what was a last-minute stay. Would say that the room and beach area could be a little cleaner - old bottle tops were on the ground around the plants in our outside bathroom, and old cups and cigarette trays were still under the bushes around our nearest sunbathing area from previous guests.

Enjoyed a week of rest and relaxation at this resort. Lovely staff, friendly and helpful. Beautiful villa on the ocean. Loved having assigned chairs at the beach directly in front of my villa. Clean and nice. Good standard. I had room 138 and the only thing to complain about it were the sunbeds are. Very narrow, trees blocked the sun, and if i want to be out in the sun i need to move the whole sunbed out in the water in the afternoon due to the tide. I expected better of a 5star hotel. Everything else was perfect.

Everything about this resort was spectacular from the staff to the amenities, etc. However, what really stood out to me was the quality of the food. Every meal was tasty, well seasoned, and fresh and every dish was constantly replenished. Ice cream instead of a welcome drink was very "cool";-) and my taste buds were pleasantly delighted with the cardamom crème brûlée!

We visited Kurumba 12 years ago so this was a return to 'paradise'. The welcome at the airport and transfer to the resort by speedboat was efficient and hassle free, however it did cost $324 for the two of us, something we did not discover until a couple of days before arrival. The Kurumba has a wide range of facilities from the Spa to the glass bottomed boat and tennis courts and in that respect it lives you up its 5* rating. However as occupancy rates were down the specialist restaurants were only open for a couple of days a week, it would have been helpful to have been told this when we arrived. Our beachside bungalow was as ideal as expected although it did look a bit tired. All the staff were very professional, welcoming and attentive. I was particularly impressed with the guys who were constantly cleaning the beaches and common grounds, also the nightly singer was very good and entertaining. The noise of sea planes taking off from Male for the islands was however somewhat intrusive and not as we remembered. Overall we had a very good and enjoyable stay.

Kurumba was better than we could have ever imagined. Between the food, staff, accommodations - everything was amazing. I wish we lived closer so we could go back!

Kurumba was everything I imagined and so much more. The staff were incredibly courteous, the room was spotless, and the open bathroom was hands down my favorite part of the bungalow we stayed in. Huge shout-out to the water sports team, and to all the wonderful people we met along the way. Truly an unforgettable experience.
