Overall a Wonderful Stay
We had a lovely stay. The service was amazing Julio and Bobby took wonderful care of us at the Vineyard Rose Restaurant for breakfasts. We had a lovely dinner for the family the day after Christmas, lovely (the waitress had long brown hair) with great staff. Had a facial and a massage with Agnus a the Grape Seed Spa wonderful service! Had one odd encounter with the "manager" in the restaurant when we asked about having Christmas dinner. It was sold out, and I asked to have our name added to the waitlist. She said no, we have already checked with everyone who is coming. Curt, and unfriendly, When we went to our "table" the restaurant was empty, but 3 other tables eating when the manager went to seat us I asked if we could sit at a table that was private. No, we are full, No one else came in to eat. For some reason, it felt like an odd power dynamic reaction which was confusing. My husband and I were very kind, and considerate and left it after each of her responses, which included rolling her eyes. I went back after our breakfast and said I didn't understand why we could not put our name on a waitlist in case someone gets sick etc. She said, "fine. I will put your name on the waitlist". I followed her to the host stand, assuming she was going to write our name and number down, she seemed surprised to see me I asked if she needed my number, and she rolled her eyes again and said I already have it. Probably from our OpenTable reservation.

Just a quick two night stay for a wedding. The resort had a lot of staff and they were all kind and attentive. The room was spacious and comfortable. We had a lovely breakfast at the restaurant. Happy we stayed here.

Our room was not available so they have transfer us two different rooms it was very outdated and very dark I was not satisfied so they eventually moved us to a room that was similar as to what I had reserved that did make me happy and please however they need to get handicap bars in the shower and by the bath toilet and they need to have an update I Believe on especially that room that they were going to put us in it was dark and dreary and very old appointed

Overall, we enjoyed our 3 day stay at South Coast. We stayed in the villas and enjoyed the openness & size of the room, plus the little patio just outside was nice for relaxing and enjoying an evening glass of wine. The grounds are beautiful & quite peaceful. We did stay during the height of wedding season and both Friday and Saturday afternoon, we realized that our villa was located right next to the area where the wedding ceremonies are held. This wasn’t too large of an issue, but it should be noted that a certain section of the parking is blocked off during the ceremonies themselves. If your car gets blocked into those spaces during the wedding ceremony beware you won’t be able to move it, a warning would’ve been nice. For the caliber of resort that this is, we were also mildly disappointed by a few of things. First, when we arrived to check in, the process was smooth, but we were assigned to a room, which, upon entering we realized was already occupied by other guests. We quickly exited, laughing it off, & returned to the front desk to alert them and be assigned to another Villa. The staff helped us out right away and gave us a complimentary bottle of wine, which was appreciated but certainly not expected. The mirrors in the bathroom had fingerprints all over them, I’d expect them to be clean. Sadly, we were awoken the next day by an alarm clock at 6 AM that had not been reset after the prior guests. A few tweaks/attention to detail would have made this a five star stay.
