Very friendly staff. Our room was adorable, bed was comfortable. Jetted bathtub was a surprise and worked well. Would absolutely stay again.

Be aware that when you book a room on this site, it may not be the room that you get. Once we arrived, we were given a key to check out a room on the third floor in a different building. It was a shotty room with unsafe locks and a lot of narrow stairs. I feel it was a way of forcing us to upgrade which we didn’t feel we should have needed to do. Management told us that they would throw in breakfast which we had already paid for online, but was never taken off of our bill.

Perfect location! It’s quaint and very authentic New England. Very charming property. We were schedule for the Mellvill House and got upgraded for $60 and it was very very worth it. Great experience. Easy walk downtown.

It's a period inn so I expected a small room. The room itself was quite nice, however, the bed mattress was extremely hard and uncomfortable. The room lock worked, but the main building lock didn't , so the building wasn't secure. Also I didn't receive any housekeeping service during my stay. Newport accommodation is always expensive and this was no exception, but the next time I visit I will spend my money elsewhere.

Very well situated, right in the old part of Newtown. Quiet neighborhood and close to the busier streets. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Kindly let us stay past the check out hour. We didn’t get a room in the house we had reserved (not in Melville but in an adjacent house) and the room we got didn’t look like the pictures posted on line. It was a little poky but since we only wanted to use it to sleep in, it didn’t bother us much.
