Could be better
Located at a busy area even at late night so it could be quite noisy. But it was close to many tourist sites. One of the staff was rude because he was not helpful at all when I asked about whether they took away my own towel whilst cleaning the bed above me. Room was ok.

it's a good place if you have limited budget.
basically, the location is good. Leidseplain is the central place in Amsterdam, lots of clubs, coffee shops,etc. however, the room is not that comfortable. no hair dryer inside, and no lift here, so if u travel with the heavy baggage, think twice before you book it. in short, it's a good place if you have limited budget.

it is satisfactory
In general, it is satisfactory except the breakfast. What you can get is just bread and coffee/tea. But I just paid 13.7 euro(including city tax) per night, so I should not expect much from the hostel.

The environment of the hotel is bad. Such as the toilet transpiring a peculiar smell in the mid-night, the rat running around but the porter is polite and helpful.

Great hostel! Room was quite spacious and everything was kept quite clean. The communnal fridge is quite small and there is only a microwave for cooking. The hostel only takes payment in cash. I missed that memo but the staff were very helpful in pointing me to a nearby atm. There is no in house laundry but there is a self serve laundromat within easy walking distance.

So the contact number on hotels is for a different place I struggled to find it as all the pictures are outdated. Was walking up and down the street trying to find it sat nav saying I was there couldn’t find it so thought to ring the number, the bloke in the number told me the actual address I went there bare in mind it was a 30 minute walk from where I was meant to be staying then as I turned up told me it was wrong hotel. So that didn’t start the trip off well so be careful with that one As I walked into the hostel it was very outdated. There was atmosphere considering it was meant to be a youth hostel When I finally got to my room the room was very over crowded 12 people sharing one bathroom was not pleasant at all. The room felt like a prison. The view from window was just into the roof top. The room wasn’t the cleanest not sure if that was the people staying or the hostel fault. Despite all this it was cheap and fit for purpose to save money the WiFi was amazing very fast This hostel has huge potential as it’s in such a good location If they had lockers in the room instead of trying to fit as many people in the room as possible and have a welcoming lounge area maybe swap the huge dinning table for a pool table and charge but extra for room would be good idea Overall I would book here again if I needed a very cheap hostel in central Amsterdam and didn’t care about the conditions
