The hotel has an amazing location, and rooms facing South benefit from a stunning view of the Alps. That view alone saved our overall experience, because in many other aspects the hotel underperforms.
We came in with very high expectations, and had chosen the hotel because it offered special VIP benefits to Hotels.com members. Unfortunately, this status was never proactively acknowledged. Our breakfast table was changed to a much worse location after the first night (even when other clients got to keep theirs), also without acknowledging, and we were met with resistance when asking for a better placement (which we got in the end).
We had also booked the special 5 course New Year's dinner with live music... only to be forgotten by service staff, and made to wait for about one hour and a half for the second course, which arrived cold. We felt at most times as second- class customers, with everyone else being a priority, and had to reclaim basic services more times than we're used to/ liked to have done.
Not to have our New Year's eve ruined we left their restaurant, and thankfully the main host saved the night a bit for us with his attentions, but we were quite disappointed by this hotel overall.
Room (small) and amenities: as frequent travellers, we'll say the hotel is mostly a 3 star rather than 4. Spa and fitness are offered by a sister hotel. Also the condition and cleaning of the room was not thorough at most times (but maybe this was due to the Covid situation)
