Mostly great
This is a very cute hotel in a great location for shops and restaurants, and walking distance to the beach. The pool area with a palapa with swing seats is very relaxing and the best part of the hotel. The food and drinks were good and reasonably priced during their long happy hour. They even have a speak easy, which was pretty novel. The only down side to the hotel was they were not very accommodating when they ran into problems. They had some maintenance issue so they couldn’t put us in the pool side room which we had booked, so they offered us another room on the 3rd floor and a $30 food and beverage credit for our trouble, which I felt was not sufficient. When I told them that and that I had booked their hotel because of the pool side room, they just shrugged. Half of the hotel didn’t have hot water for a couple of the days we were there. We avoided that but it didn’t sound like they did much for the people who didn’t. Finally, the hot tub, while really nice, was way too hot. I like very hot hot tubs, but this one could cook lobsters. All in all however, the nice rooms, pool and location make me highly recommend the hotel. It’s a throwback to an earlier time and likely will be torn down in the not too distant future to make way for a luxury high rise, which will be a travesty…stay here while you can…
