Quirky but charming.
Quirky but pleasant; spruced up old motel on Pacific Coast Highway across from beach and ocean (lightly used commuter rail tracks between PCH and ocean. Tight room with king size bed. The “living room” is outside—sofa, easy chair, coffee and side table, ceramic propane fire pot. In off season it can be chilly and overcast/foggy this close to the water. Modern bath with tiled, glass shower stall. Pleasant, “old” California bar where continental breakfast is available, drinks all evening. Very accommodating staff.

Beautiful ocean view room
Beautiful hotel with an ocean view. The rooms were newly renovated and really nice. Not a lot of space in the room. The bed takes up the whole room. The patio was great with a wonderful view. Easy access to the beach.

This place is beautiful. It’s clean, nicely appointed and extremely reasonably priced. The only negative would be the size of the room. But if you don’t need a lot of space I would stay here!

Read reviews before booking.
The hotel is cute & the staff were very friendly, however the hotel pictures and amenities are misleading. The room was extremely small, the balcony was shared with other guests, there was no refrigerator or microwave in room. Definitely not what I was expecting for the amount paid. Another inconvenience was the shades were broken and since the balcony is shared, others walk in the area so we literally had to go into the bathroom to change clothes. No privacy at all. There’s a train that runs along the coast across the street from the hotel that I wasn’t aware of. It’s not a big deal but if you’re a light sleeper it will definitely wake you a few times. Last thing, we picked up snacks from the room for our car ride home (these are $8-$10 ) each and realized both were expired by over a month. Small things but overall I would expect better from somewhere as expensive as this place is. I didn’t complain because I didn’t want to ruin my husband’s birthday but definitely not staying here again.

My husband and I stayed here for valentines weekend and it was lovely! Our only issue we had was that the floors of our room seemed to be very dirty and could’ve been cleaned better prior to us arriving. Other than that it was beautiful and staff was very helpful!

Great little beach vibe.
We enjoyed the patio with the fireplace burning in the evening with the ocean view the most. The bar was great with an intimate vibe, perfect for couples. All told it was a fantastic getaway. Kudos to Hunter.

The ambiance is pure luxury! So nice to have the little restaurant onsite. Cassidy took good care of us! We enjoyed the in room amenities, too.

Awesome ocean view!
We had a patio room that had privacy and an view of the ocean that was directly across the street. The rooms are small, but the structure was built in 1930. They were very creative with the space planning in the room, to allow a view of the ocean from the bed. Extreme attention to detail was much appreciated!

Quaint remodeled motel into an Adobe Bungalow setting on Route 1. Ocean right there and walking distance to beach and restaurants for sunsets. Room share common doors to other rooms and you can hear everything next door. Not ideal if you’re looking for privacy and intimacy. My bungalow didn’t seem to have the same level of amenities as others but was nice. Route 1 traffic noise is heard as is the Amtrak trains going by outside. Has a lot of character. Overall I would rate it a 3.7.
