Though I'd dined before at Melvyn's, I appreciated the property so much more actually staying a couple of nights at the Ingleside... My bungalow room was so cozy, equipped with Netflix, and just steps from both the pool and the restaurant. Lots of parking either around the back or regular street parking out front. I loved sitting out by the pool in the mornings with my coffee. Don't miss the Sunday jazz performance at the bar though get there right at the start for good seating. I also enjoyed a great steak dinner at Melvyn's. I really enjoyed the staff throughout the property. Truly top-notch all around.

We loved staying at this historic and unique resort. Every bungalow is different and having access to their sister property, The Avalon, gave us even more options for food and amenities. Staff was great! Would highly recommend.

This is such a lovely property - from the grounds, to the architecture, to the design of the rooms. It seems that they’ve strived to keep the old Hollywood hideaway ambiance and it’s wonderful. Our room had a secluded, large patio that was equipped with two sun loungers, a small table and chairs and there was still plenty of space. I really loved that we could see the mountains and lots of palm trees from our space. It felt like a personal oasis. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was a great size and I appreciated the large walk in shower. All of the staff we encountered were very kind and receptive. My partner and I especially loved the convenient bike rental - it was so fun to explore the area this way! The property is located a bit off the epicenter of the main PAL Springs drag, but it’s an easy and quick walk to get to the bars and restaurants. My only disappointment way being unable to get a seat at Melvyn’s. I had read that this was a hot spot for music on Sundays, but underestimated our ability to get it. The restaurant is fairly small and so is the bar - I would highly recommend making a reservation! Overall, I would absolutely recommend this hotel and would love to stay again.

The property is beautiful, but my overall stay was terrible because of their staff. From the moment I checked in, and every other moment that followed, I was treated like a nuisance in their work environment. I was not treated as a guest of the hotel. Everyone seemingly hates their job, doesn’t want to do a good job, is acting like it’s their first day on the job, etc… I don’t mind untrained staff. I mind rude, sassy behavior. What’s the point of saying you offer breakfast on the porch or lunch at the pool if there is only one staff member servicing both areas? We saw her one time over a 4-hour period by the pool. They understaff their hotel. Even housekeeping is understaffed, which is why our room was not ready by 4pm, though they offer a 4pm guarantee. And when asking for updates on the availability of our room, I was told that it was not ready and they didn’t know when it would be ready. No offers to make it right. No gestures to apologize for the big inconvenience. So we checked out early and went to the Thompson hotel down the street.

Beautiful property, areas could be updated - including the pool (needs resurfacing) the hot tub (needs new brick work) and a sign for where the button is to turn on the jets. Service to the pool (food & drinks) was sketchy at best without follow up to remove dishes. The restaurant is nice - old school steak house, but not something you’d go to over multiple nights, but the live music was wonderful. I’ve seen some of the crazy price listings that I would never pay to stay here, but this was a good spot for a quiet few days of sunshine.
